Looks like Hayne was on a media tour today
Who to?the most relevant question remains, how can Saints pay JH when we have issues, just looking at the 2 rosters , our club has a lot of explaining to do.

I think that's a crappy offer for a player of his quality. And now I'm sad.Who to?
The Hayne issue is simple.
He wanted a 1 year contract at $750k and the club wanted 2 years at $500k.
If the club decided that is his worth to us, end of story and good on them for sticking to their guns despite fan petitions.
Its not a bad offer for a bloke earmarked as a non-spine player.I think that's a crappy offer for a player of his quality. And now I'm sad.
True, but he seemed to be the preferred fullback this year, and started the last game there. And it's not like we've signed a better one since then. At the very least he's fringe spine, very versatile, and capable of a lot more. Its not a bad offer for a bloke earmarked as a non-spine player.

If he plays 15 games like he did this season that's 33K a game based on 500K a season. Its not a bad offer for a bloke earmarked as a non-spine player.

Considerably less than what they're going to be playing Jennings though, who's never even heard of the spine.
My mail is that we paid him $500k in 2018 and were not prepared to pay him more for 2019.It's also less money than he was paid last season (reportedly) as he would've also earnt at least $100k from the Gold Coast.

Might not be true, but it is what I heard a while ago now.
I'm happy either way if he goes or stays. I'd like to see him at the Eels but at the end of the day he's over 30 and injury prone. If he was arguably our best player in 2018 then that says a lot about the rest of the team. 500K sounds more than fair. Besides, where do we play him if he stays? Shore up the fullback position or keep him on the wing? There are options if he goes elsewhere, the world will still turn. Glad to see the club is not visiting the past when it comes to players demands. But, if we're only planning to pay him the same amount in 2019 for 12 months, as what we paid him for 11 months in 2018, then we're essentially asking him to take a pay cut.
Given he was probably our best player, he's worth more than $500k.
Is Mick really good at farting?
