Welcome back to parra jarryd right In time for origin.

It would be great but all indications are that he will make the practice squad and give it another year. Each to their own but the longer he waits it is costing him well over a million each year he "doesn't make it."

....and even if we concede that money is the main factor, staying there also means a greater chance of a bigger long-term payoff than is achievable in the NRL. But really, if he has been smart thus far, he is probably not desperate for a bucul. And he gets to grow as big a moustache as he likes.

Rugby star now #49ers rookie RB Jarryd Hayne explains all things Aussie to new teammates. Snakes, koalas, kangaroos.

@JanieMcCAP Kid can play. LOTS of self belief. Always plays better under pressure on the big stage. #HaynePlane #RugbyLeague #ParramattaEels

I really can't see any risk for Hayne if stays 2-3 years over in the USA. He will either get a big payday because he made it. If he doesn't while he would probably be a bit old for a big NRL payday, he could easily made a fortunate playing Union for several years in France. And his body should be in decent shape due to lack of playing for a few years.

Really no risk for him

If he doesn't make the cut in September atleast the practice squad he will realize how far down the pecking order he is.Than there is another draft and 500+ more college guys to compete with. If he makes the roster would be great. If he makes practice team I reckon he give another year to try and make proper squad.

I still think if he gets cut he will return. I mean mentally it would hit him like a tonne of bricks. And Hayne is big show.He loves the spotlight. He would come back to Australia and people would blow there nuts over him. Next year being 28 he would still command and awesome 4 yr deal. Leaves it another year at age 29 and 2 yrs out of game I wouldn't want him back.
Would be paying overs for a guy who may never get back to where he was and at best would take a while to get back into the groove and be ageing. Guys like Hayne who realy on speed and power heavily can get old fast. And prior too 2014 remember he was very injury prone.

I didn't see Pauli on the bus on the way to work this morning. I'll keep an eye out though, there was a big bloke running the leaf blower outside my window.

Who did the 49ers pick? Will it affect Jarryd Hayne's hopes of making the team?

After trading down from the 15th pick to the 17th (a move which also garnered them an extra fourth-round selection), San Francisco drafted defensive end Arik Armstead. That has zero impact on Hayne's pursuit of a spot on the team. What does matter though is that San Diego used the 15th pick to draft running back Melvin Gordon - a player who would have seriously curtailed Hayne's NFL dreams if he had ended up with the 49ers. The fact San Fran let the Chargers draft the much-lauded Gordon indicates one of two things. Either they have identified a running prospect in the later rounds or they are happy with who they already have in camp. In short, this is anything but bad news for Hayne and his fellow 49ers running backs. His task hasn't got any easier, but perhaps more importantly it isn't any harder. With the draft continuing over the next two days, it remains to be seen if the 49ers try and unearth their running back of the future now Frank Gore has left and signed with Indianapolis.

I wish the NRL had a draft. Forget about the disbursement of talent, how good is it to have massive interest in a sport during the offseason when the comp is still months and months away from kicking off.
