Jarryd Hayne to reportedly return to Australia from San Francisco #NFL 49ers' minicamp to undergo minor foot surgery http://ab.co/1JLuvRr

Hmmmmm

No surgeons in San Fran?? Or even somewhere a little closer to the US West coast than Sydney??

June 30 deadline approaching..... he's coming back to put on his cape and fly us in to the 8!!

Either that, or Dave Smith and the NRL want to show him the massive suitcase full of cash they can give to him if he signs for the Titans now that DCE ain't going there anymore...

He prolly has private health insurance so he pays the GAP here whereas it would cost him $23,000,000,000,000.00 for the operation in the US.

We have first right of reply seeing that we released him from a lawful obligation to play with Parra.

For the rest of 2015, yeah I think he'd have to play for us or nobody...

If we're talking about 2016, I think he can sign wherever he wants... I really think that whole "eel for life" stuff was fluff tbh...

Another link/version of the story with a few quotes from JH and his coach.

http://www.fanatix.com/news/jarryd-...ollowing-san-francisco-49ers-nfl-camp/653574/

ormer Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne will reportedly return to Australia for foot surgery following this week’s minicamp with the San Francisco 49ers. Hayne has developed a cyst on the arch of his foot and will undergo surgery in Sydney next week.
Hayne quit the NRL last season to pursue a dream NFL career and was snapped up by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year.
The 27-year-old is still a long way off an NFL debut however, as he must be selected in the 49ers 53-man roster for the 2015/16 season of which will be decided in September.
49ers coach Jim Tomsula said Hayne is showing major signs of improvement as the season draws closer.
“Now you’re starting to see his speed show up, as he’s attacking the line, running his tracks and feeling more comfortable,” Tomsula said.
Hayne admitted he is still coming to grips with having to change his running style due to his 6ft 2′ frame.
“bviously my running style is the biggest thing I have to change, being so high,” Hayne said.
“We watched some video of where I was to where I am now, it’s better but obviously a lot more I need to improve.”

Data Shows Growth of 49ers Followers in Australia Since Jarryd Hayne's Arrival

from 49ers.com and insights from Facebook help us quantify the precise influence one player has had on the emergence of 49ers followers in Australia.

The 2015 NBA finals have put Australian athletes in the spotlight lately. The interest has been fueled by the emergence of Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova, an Australian born and raised in Maryborough. Dellavedova has stepped in for the injured Kyrie Irving who was actually born in Australia as well. Opposing Dellavedova and Irving is the face of Australian basketball, Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut.

But the San Francisco 49ers have the “LeBron James of the Australia,” and his arrival in Santa Clara has brought a new fan following from the Land Down Under.

I am talking of course about rugby league icon-turned-NFL running back hopeful Jarryd Hayne .

Related: What Australian Fans are Saying About Jarryd Hayne

It should come as no surprise that the superstar intenational athlete nicknamed the "Hayne Plane" has created a stir of interest in the 49ers from fans in the South Pacific, nearly 8,000 miles away from Northern California.

But a look at data from 49ers.com and insights from Facebook help us quantify the precise influence one player has had on the emergence of 49ers followers in Australia.

Since Hayne joined the team in March, Australia has comprised the second-most visits to 49ers.com by a country behind only the United States. In the same time period last year, visits from Australia were sixth-most. The site has also experienced 300 percent more page views from Australia since the running back's arrival.

On Facebook, Australians only make up about one percent of current 49ers followers. That said, the total number of fans from Australia has doubled coinciding with the addition of Hayne. Most of those fans are highly engaged - liking, commenting and sharing 49ers posts on a weekly basis. One of the gaudiest numbers from Facebook: 25 times more Australians are talking about the 49ers this offseason than they were last year.
In October, we used Twitter data to ask the question: Are the 49ers America’s team? Although it will be an extremely tough road for Hayne to make the final 53-man roster - an unprecedented feat for someone with little playing experience - at least for now, it seems, the 49ers are Australia’s team.

unlike the cavs though, the niners are on a knife edge on how they will perform this season. if hayne stays safe under the bomb and can produce anything semi-spectacular the niners will keep him. the other option for kick return is bush and his recent past is injury riddled.

Good to see a reporter holding him highly. And reading from the rest of the article it seems Hayne is doing quite well overall. Hopefully he makes it past this stage of the training and we can see him line-up in a pre-season game.

You have no idea Avenger!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hayne on a plane

Jarryd Hayne flies back into Australia today with no thought of failure – and his old club, Parramatta, is banking on his success. Hayne knows exactly how cutthroat the NFL business is – his roommate at his Santa Clara apartment was given a tap on the shoulder and told his 49ers dream was over.

Hayne is still considered a worthwhile talent and the tip is he will be held onto to keep developing even if he is not considered strong enough for the 53-man squad. To ensure he is at peak fitness he will get a cyst cut out of his foot when he is in Sydney. He previously had one removed when he was 11.

The Eels want Hayne to succeed and their boss Scott Seward has admitted for the first time that Hayne is not obliged to return to the Eels. "His contract would have been up at the end of the year, so no he is not obligated to be here if he returns," said Seward.

At the time this column questioned whether there was a "lifetime" commitment to the Eels and it's clear there isn't. "We are of the view that we'd never like to see him playing for another club – we can't rule it out that would happen, but Jarryd did indicate at the time that he'd like to return here if he comes back." Seward said that the Eels wouldn't have the room in the cap to fit Hayne in. "But I don't think any other team would have the kind of money in their cap to sign Jarryd," he said. "There would have to be special dispensation given to any club that wanted to sign Jarryd. It would obviously be in the interest of the game, not just a club, to have Jarryd back in the NRL."

It seems everyone including I were duped to think we had some legal obligation to retain him should he come back. This makes me very angry now. Don't say "Lifetime Contract" if it's bullshit and let Hayne make out that it will only be with the Eels if it is all just talk.

We basically don't have a leg to stand on if another club want him in 2016 and beyond and he decides to go.

f**king amateur hour. I would have only released him with a clause. f**king dopes!!!!!!!!!!!

there was never any way in hell that hayne's manager would have committed to anything binding him to the club AFTER his current contract was up

the top players/their managers have all the power in this sort of shit

nothing club could have done except deny him leaving this year, piss him of, have him play shit this year then leave part way in, then never want to be here anyway

It's the Eels mate.
Why are you so surprised. Seriously?

Suity

We had a legally binding contract. We didn't have to release him. As if you wouldn't have the nous to place a clause in the release conditions of your most valuable commodity.

I just shake my head.

i have no doubt we'd hav a clause to stop him playing elsewhere THIS year - but as per my post above, no way they'd agree to anything beyond his current deal
