The club would have to redo his current deal to allow Semi to attract any 3rd party.

Semi's current deal is all cap money. It's a guaranteed income hence why his manager signed it for 4 years.

And it's the best $250K a year money can buy.

"He'll" = "he will" = prediction of the future. You only have to look at the preceding sentence (otherwise know as the context), which contained the phrase "I don't think he'll play rugby league again"

Can't get much closer to a prediction than that... though you've proved over the years that you find simple concepts quite difficult Suity. Would you have got it right if my post had spelled out the word p-r-e-d-i-c-t-i-o-n in one of the sentences?

As usual, I think you're the only one playing games here Suitman.

#captainagenda

I would have thought..."I think he'll (he will)" would be a prediction.
And you're glad Pou is gone?:lol:

Keep feeling good Bart. Or are you Phantom tonight? Can you ever even remember who you log in as?

So you can't carry forward the "I think" from the previous sentence, in the same two senetence paragraph? A bit too tricky for you, or didn't suit your agenda?

Try some remedial reading lessons Suity, before your next attempt at judemental observations on a forum

Does it matter? Why do you even bother remembering who posted a particular comment after you've logged off? It's just an online forum, and as I've said many times before, some people take this place way too seriously....

If the leaks have stopped, how do you know all this info jodeci.
3P still had some representation somewhere in the club before the recent election, didn't they? So any info around the club from earlier in the year was probably open to the usual leakages...

Barry, Hayne's last deal had 4 parts to it:

1. Standard Salary Cap Money
2. Marquee Salary Cap Money
3. 3rd party organised by the club
4. 3rd party organised by Beavis (Rebel, Nike, etc)

If people think the club doesn't provide 3rd party arrangements for players, you are completely wrong. Whether it says in the NRL Salary Cap rules or not, every club does it providing it's not a sponsor of the club or a rival of the NRL sponsors.

Thanks. Yeh I realise that the components above potentially exist. But the club cannot guarantee payments under parts 3 and 4.

From the most recent Salary Cap Rules available on the web:

What players can earn outside the salary cap:

$600,000 - Marquee Player Allowance - any or all of the Top 25 players at each club can share in payments made by club sponsors seeking to use a player's intellectual property. These may be guaranteed in the playing contract by clubs.
$100,000 - Motor Vehicle Allowance ? a maximum amount of five motor vehicles may be provided to players in the Top 25 outside of the salary cap. (Valued at $20,000 each).

Unlimited - Players can earn unlimited amounts from corporate sponsors who are not associated with the club and who do not use the game's intellectual property (no club logos, jerseys or emblems) provided these are pre-approved. These agreements may not be negotiated by the club as an incentive for a player to sign a contract, nor can they be guaranteed by the club.

While there's nothing stopping us putting the player in contact with someone willing to sponsor him, outside the Marquee component, any liability that we assume for unpaid sponsorship money would have to be assessed under the cap.
