Just saying - but Hayne is a huge NFL fan, so he'd be aware of all the basics of the code.
He'd just need to work on the finer things.
what a sorry bunch of people on this board, and selfish too, I didn't realise Jarryd had to report to the utter spastics on here and not allowed to do what he wants to do.
f**kwits.
whatever old man, maybe we should all bring back grass hills too, contracts arent what they use to be, grow with the times.
I heard that they have a couple of good offers out there for very handy backs, see what happens over the next few days

I can't understand some of the hate in this thread.
Hayne is a professional athelete, just like any of us who are professionals in our own chosen careers. He has chosen to test himself on his strengths in his profession, with the ultimate reward being success. Who amongst us wouldn't want to do that? Oh, that's right - the weak and feeble.
He has stated that this is not a financial decision. I believe him. He was a young kid bought up in Minto that has achieved incredible success and undoubtedly, a good deal of wealth beyond his dreams already. I don't think money is his motivation.
For those "claiming" that the timing is poor - when would the timing have been better? It's just 6 weeks after our last game and it appears he was still mulling over the decision during those 6 weeks, with the trip to Seattle.
What would you have preferred? Christmas Day? Just before next season starts? Half way through next season and risk destabilising the team? Fair dinkum. The timing couldn't have been better tbh.
I have the utmost respect and support for what he is doing. It would have been a f**king tough decision but just like the risks he took as a player, he is taking the same risks in making this decision. He has no contract and no big pay day yet. It is a gamble.
As I said in a previous post, I'm saddened. I'm shocked. I'm disappointed.
But I don't hate. I wish him the best.

Bull$hit he said he has been thinking about it for 3 -4 yrs.He should of made a decision by June so club could work out there roster.
I hope he does well. Not ok I hope he becomes a superstar and not just plays as a back up a few times. That wouldn't be making it.
He has let a lot of people down Suity.Leasst he could of done was give some notice
I don't want to pay my mortgage. Unfortunately I signed a contract. Now run along dickhead.
He has. 5 months.

I would have let him go if I was the boss but the return if you don't make it clause would be ironclad with no key.
hahaha what a piss weak example . So you have never changed employers have you? so applying a get out option in your contract is like having a mortgage :lol:
Go and have a cry, hope you feel like shit that he is leaving, suck shit.
f**k me, we are f**ked!

I'm not upset with him but he was on track to be the greatest Eel, possibly NRL player ever......really gonna miss watching him play for us![]()
I won't be losing any sleep over it you flea. As long as the boy from Minto is happy.
Pretty much describes it
Not angry just devastated we won't get to watch him
Even with the shit we were given the past few years, there was always the hope if seeing some magic every game
also, much different to watching the NFL and and having guys chop block your legs from behind you and taking you out with your eyes elswhere, there is a reason why they need pads to wear this game, the hits and tackles come from everywhere and you dont even have the ball in your hands
