Lol at those who actually believe Hayne only gave the club 24hrs also.
True...well maybe we fine tune hoppa for fullback and he can start earning his money.
Than go after ferguson or SKD??
Exactly.
If people believe he only told the club on Tuesday night for a Wednesday announcement need to check themselves into Westmead Hospital.
Like I said earlier, the alarm bells should of been ringing when he said all contract talks are off until after the season.
He had a gut feeling then.

The club knew just after origin, at least that is when he expressed to BA and the club that he wanted to give it a go in NFL
Exactly
This article back in July by Michael Chammas from the SMH regarding Hayne and the NFL. Have a look at the quotes from Hayne.
A week after this article, Seeward says we are starting contract negotiations with Hayne's manager???
A week after that, Hayne and his manager tell Parra talks are off till end of the season.
If someone tells me the club had no idea about this pending decision from Hayne, they must be kidding themselves

You can flip it, turn it around or even upside down. In the end he has left us will little warning. The fact that Dave Smith was on the phone late Tuesday trying to sway him suggests that it did blind side many in the game.
If Hayne had telegraphed his formal intentions earlier then fans would have had a chance to say goodbye and the club would have been able to privately and publicly plan for succession.
I feel like my fiancée of many years has upped and left me cos she wants to travel to India and help the poor. An out of the blue WTF moment that might have been talked about, but you never thought that it would ever amount to anything.
I find very little sympathy for him as I think he has acted selfishly compared to (say) Sam Burgess who gave plenty of lead time so that the fans, NRL and his club can come to grips with it and undertake some forward planning.

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had a little fun Wednesday when asked about the team possibly signing Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne.
[+] EnlargeAshley Feder/Getty ImagesAustralia's Jarryd Hayne says he is retiring from the National Rugby League to pursue a career in the NFL.
"Our scout Down Under has been on this for some time now," Carroll joked. "But he's an incredible athlete and a great competitor, so we'll see where it goes. I'm afraid to mention anything because I'm not sure of the rights things and contract issues down there. We'll leave that up to [Seahawks general manager] John [Schneider] to figure out."
Hayne, 26, announced earlier this week that he is retiring from the National Rugby League to pursue a career in the NFL. He made a visit to Seattle in September, making an appearance at the Seahawks' facility after meeting University of Washington coach Chris Petersen at Husky Stadium.
Carroll said he did not meet Hayne when the rugby star visited the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. When asked specifically about Hayne, Carroll was a bit coy.
"I don't think I'm able to talk about that," Carroll said. "We couldn't talk about a player on another [NFL] team, so I don't want to mess it up. But it's a pretty exciting thought.
"I've always thought it would be cool to recruit down [in Australia] and all that because there are some great players, and it's a great game. It's a very physical and demanding game, so those guys have all the same stuff we're looking for in our guys."
When Carroll's normal news conference ended, Dave Pearson, the Seahawks' vice president of communications, said Carroll was just having fun.
"He doesn't even know who the guy is," Pearson said.
However, the interest appeared serious enough that a television station from Australia sent one of its reporters (Los Angeles-based Michael Best) to Seattle on Wednesday to ask Carroll about Hayne.
Carroll was willing to talk about rugby players in general.
"They're great athletes," Carroll said. "They run fast, and they hit hard. The style of throwing and catching is different. I'm sure our guys could cross over, too, once they figured out how to lateral and kick it on the run. Well, we'd be miserable at that, I'm sure. But there's a lot of general carryover because of running and tackling and making people miss."
Could a rugby star such as Hayne (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) make it in the NFL?
"I think it would be really hard and a tremendous challenge," Carroll said. "Only a certain few could do it. There would need to be a lot of patience from the [NFL team involved]. I don't think a guy could come in in the middle of a season. I think it would take more time than that. But we've seen guys over the years who have made the transition from other sports."
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman also was asked if Hayne could do it.
"It depends on what position he is trying to play," Sherman said. "If he can adjust and grasp the strategic part of the game, I think he would do fine. That's to be seen."
And could Sherman play rugby?
"I don't know," Sherman said. "I don't really know the rules to rugby, but I think I'd do all right."

Hey at least the leaks have stoppedWhat is there to flip around?
Did Seeward start contract talks or not?
Was he just trying to say that after the article by the SMH early July about the NFL talk?
Eels chief executive Scott Seward confirmed yesterday that contract negotiations with the Parramatta star?s representatives were about to get under way.
?It has been on our radar for a while now,? Seward said.
?We have flagged it with Jarryd?s management about extending and, as far as we?re concerned".
So he actually never spoke to Beavis? he only flagged the idea?

There is no way on this earth he would of just dropped this bombshell.
The discussions with the club would of happened in recent weeks at least.
Anyway, best of luck to the champ. I hope he goes well and wish him nothing but success in life and I hope he chases that dream to play NFL.
There's a world of difference between knowing that Hayne was considering this, and would make a decision in the future, and knowing what that decision actually is/was. In the first case, it allows the club to sus-out a few contingency plans, but not much else.

It could have been handled way better than it has. Better for the fans. Better for the club. Better for the NRL.
You seem to be content with how it was handled. I'm not.
Do I wish Jarryd well ? Of course. Do I think it's been handled in an unprofessional and disrespectful manner. Hell yes. Oddly he said that he was going to bail out a year ago but didn't do so because of the Brad Arthur thing (he then actually went on to say that he didn't have the balls to make the move). So frankly he didn't know what he wanted to do until recently. To me he made a rather spontaneous decision that blind sided the club
Some might say that it's all up front and planned with all parties on notice. We'll see. If the club has been aware of this for many months then no doubt we'll see a gun fullback announced in the next few days.
