Jarryd Hayne = Ricky Stuart

See the link for NFL salaries
http://www.spotrac.com/rankings/nfl/

Top punter gets 3.25m - worse gets udner 500k (remember all this is in US).

I don't think he will make it to the NFL but my biggest concern is when he comes back he will not be the same player as he is leaving. NRL is all about speed and power vs NFL where it is all about speed.

Maybe Hayne just wants to buy his mum a bigger house?

Agree on the sentiment.

Sam Burgess announced his intentions in Feb 2014.

It didn?t make me any less disappointed - he has let our club and our fans down massively!

maybe the broncs can sell you one, 4 seems a bit surplus.

Yeah it's definitely f**ked your salary cap if you can't move some of them on. Looks like Wayne's on the case - Hoffman soon gone and Barba will be next if they can get any takers.

I reckon Wayne will be straight on the blower to us won't he?

He'll be desperate to get rid of one, and Prob barba

OK, so I've obviously been quite critical of Hayne over the years. Mostly this was because:

a) He was ridiculously inconsistent, especially for the money he was being paid;
b) He is a massively arrogant douchebag.

Now, however, the second point above will be an asset for him. However, if he doesn't take care of the first then this move will come to nothing.

Having said all of that, there were plenty of times where it was a pleasure to watch him. Thanks for the memories, Jarryd, and good luck.

Your words have given me a great deal of comfort in this time of need, Parra Jesus...

This might be his sneaky way of getting out of Parra and signing with the Dogs, without the backlash from all of us Parra supporters.

Disappear, force Parra's hand into signing up new talent(filling the cap) and then come back, but now the only club that can fit him in are the dogs. No wonder Hasler hasn't gone out of his way to sign a decent fullback, when it is as plain as the nose on Pinocchio's face that they need a super fullback to spark up their attack. ;-)

Would be a strange way of going about it, given that he said:

"I'm leaving knowing that I have signed a 'lifetime agreement' with the Eels, so if I return to the NRL, it will be to Parramatta."

If he wants to go to the Dogs.....he could have just signed for them for 2016 in a few weeks time.

This comes as shock to not only Eels fans but Rugby League fans as well. You wouldve thought he'd stick around for a bit given our club was moving in the right direction, rebuilding after 3 terrible seasons, promising juniors coming through, a good coach with good years ahead of him.

But look its his decision, I dont think there was anything more we, the club, couldve done or the NRL couldve done.

The offer was there and its his decision.

If it fails and he wants to come back, lets welcome him back with open arms cause he is still an Eels legend IMO.

Forget about the negativity, saying we're gone for next season and Hayne shouldve stayed loyal.

Our club will always stay strong, and will probably produce yet another Hayne, or another superstar in our game. We've got a great junior base and a great fan base where we support our team no matter what.

Feel sorry for you guys, what a player, bets of luck to him and thanks for the memories,if there was one NRL player who may have a chance at making it in the NFL it would be Hayne, but in saying that it is a huge gamble that wont happen overnight, unless he is patient i would favour him again playing for the eels.

f**k me Jarryd. Definitely leaves us scrambling in the player market for a replacement at this stage of things, and we'll probably end up with some other club's cast off (one of the Bronco's 4 fullbacks?) rather than Hayne having the decency to allow the club to proactively plan for this change over the course of half a season....

I hope this "lifetime agreement" to be an Eel if he returns to NRL is simply the club's PR spin - and doesn't mean we'll have to leave some of our cap space open at the end of each year, in case this code-swapping ego man decides that he wants to return? What if we can no longer afford it, when the time suits him? (Hello Bulldogs...)

And so much for this "one more year" he "owed the club" "because of the part (he) played in getting Brad to the club" - those lazy individual first half performances this year weren't enough to get us that one extra win that would have at least put us in the finals for the first time since he last could be bothered playing to his full ability (late 2009)!

Hayne also said "The hardest thing about leaving the club is there’s stability for the first time in a long time, but I know where my heart lies and I’m following that." That is, his heart doesn't lie with Parra, obviously. So thanks for the memories Jarryd, and for your amazing late 2009 golden run to the grand final.

But if your heart's not in it anymore, and you insist on putting your individual goals above the good of the team (and above honouring your contract), then f**k right off to the U.S.A. :nwave:

Not if we can't fit him in it's not. He can sign whatever the f**k he like, but if the NRL don't register it, then so what?

Yesterday? Ungrateful little sod! We should be suing him for breach of contract, leaving us with this little notice to enter the player market to replace him for 2015.

Well, we'd definitely have the spare cap money now, if the NRL thought we didn't last time around.... But is Folau really a league fullback anymore?

At best we might be able to steal Brett Stewart for two seasons, if he's now unhappy at Brookvale after his brother's departure?

I know a couple of your fellow supporters are absolute merkins but to the rest of you, you have my sympathies. This is equivalent to when Langer quit the Broncos in the late 90's, and THAT f**king hurt.

But why not just sign for the Dogs for 2016?
He could very well still do so... and maybe our club and Jarryd's management (brand consultants) are just spinning this conditional release for all it's worth this month, so that the fans don't get angry with the Board, and so the public doesn't just see Hayne as the next codejumper and forget all about him?
