one of my favourite quotes referencing one of the few poems I was made to read/analyze in high school that didn't bore me:

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Way I remember it, albatross was a ship's good luck, 'til some idiot killed it.

You can't take Mal seriously. He's still fighting a war that was lost a long time ago.

I reckon Arthur is glad to be rid of him. They don't call him the albatross for nothing.

Who calls who the albatross :?

It might help your cause to use slightly less certain language when talking about it. Given you have no facts at your disposal on the situation....

The only facts we have on Hayne so far are:
1. that he has yet to be the highest paid player in league, and hasn't yet demanded a 'cap killing contract' (so far)
2. that he walked away from league to 'follow a dream', which would mean earning far less cash
3. that he has committed to the Eels, should he ever return to league.

Useless speculation based on opinion, which leads to name calling, is kind of bartmanesque.

I can't help but think you're trying to scapegoat Hayne to prove Kearney was awesome. [not sure how that works, but you'll have a method ]

The fact is that Hayne is the most influential common denominator for our failure since 2009. As for who calls him the albatross, I already told you - they do.

He's also been the most influential common denominator for any success we have had since 2009.

I would have thought the common denominator for our failures since 2009 was our shitty roster.

I can only speculate though.

Eels haven't had any success since 2009.

You could make just a big an argument that Mannah, Fui Fui, Smith could also have been the most influential common denominator for our failure since 2009.

You could make just a big an argument that Hindmarsh and Keating could also have been the most influential common denominator for our failure from 2010-2013.

I'd argue that we would have won far less games between 2010-2014 if The Plane wasn't at the Club.

It would depend whom we replaced him with.

In my opinion (just in case you merkins think anything we say here is anything other than our opinion) we would have had more success with any other combination of players on Hayne's salary.
