Going to be a lot of disappointed fans if they sit Hayne week 1.

I'm betting he plays as first choice PR/KR and gets some time as a RB including receiving some passes.

Only logical that he was picked in the 53 to play. What's the point of waiting until future weeks with him in the positions he is good for? He is either a starter or not in the 53 IMO.

Also as a gunner. I think we will see a lot of him.

His risk in the short term is getting hooked- same as every player. Longer term it's pass protection - if every time as RB he is going to run wide or be a slot receiver opponents will react accordingly. If he can block, he gets the chance to run and receive. If not, he eventually doesn't get the chance. Same thinking that applies to the whole offence - if you want to be able to play a passing game then you need a good running game.

Incidentally, the niners hardly passed in the pre season. Expect to see kapernick throw it a lot more right from week one. All those runs over the last 4 weeks have opened the opportunity to pass.

Yep. MMM here in Brissy have been flogging a comp for weeks to win a trip over to San Fran to watch the week 1 game v the Vikings.

Ill admit, ill be disappointed if he doesnt at least get a rep or 2

I'd be rather surprised if they put him on offence with Kaep this early. I think, injuries pending, he stays on PR/KR for at least a month. At least that's what I would do.

Plus Hyde has been great.

Under 0.5 rushes.

Are we sure he's doing to dress for week 1?
I think he probably will but he's no lock, if they have a position banged up, they might elect to let Bush/Ellington handle punts and activate more players at the need position

A fair catch isn't a return.

That's what I figured. Under 2.5 for me. Expect a lot more fair catches in regular season matches. We know he is safe as houses as a catcher - will be interesting to see decision making regarding returns. Conservative at the start would seem the norm - but this is Hayne.

He is 3rd on the depth chart at RB and 2nd for PR and KOR. This would suggest he will be active this week!

Suggestion from a niners fan that Hayne reminds him of Roger Craig #33 . Can't say that I know anything about him - but bloody big shoes to fill.

I can't see hayne being involved until there is an injury. NFL coaches are traditionally insanely conservative, often to the point of playing inferior players because in their mind they are a 'safer bet'

You could very well be spot on. Wonder how the media will react if so.
