I wonder if Caylo got the gig to keep a Parra connection rather than his Coaching ability.

yeah I can't see having a bit of DNA would do us any harm..

I don't think Caylo is as bad as what's being made out when you consider the challenges this guy had to go through to prepare for a game, the captains run is pretty much the only training run they have together when you consider where the players are coming from. I have seen him at Flegg and Wenty games where he keeps his eye on those who could probably fill a gap in the team.

I reckon Ryles respects Caylo especially as they would have had some great battles against each other in the front row in Tests & Parra v St George.

We had some great games against the Dragons in the mid 2000s when Cayless & Ryles were at there peaks.

Mutual respect with each other.

Caylo was good enough to get a job working for the Roosters, so he can't be that bad, surely?

well he's been part of other systems as well, namely the tigers and Warriors...

I'm told by those who have worked with him that he's actually pretty astute.

He has been coaching a garbage side here, so I give him the benefit of the doubt. When the NRL side got some players back, NSW Cup went on a bit of a run and they looked pretty good.

It's all very confusing, cos in the NSW Cup thread, the opinion of many was that Cayless was garbage, then he was lucky, then he was only winning because the NRL coach was no longer involved.

like I said, he's had to put up with a different team each week with 1 training session together...to tactically coach a reserve grade side is mere impossible.
