Well if you read my initial post i said realistically i think we will finish around 12th with the surgery Ryles has done with the roster. With the experience lost and the young kids being brought in it will bring inconsistency.

You do the math that's 3 spots above where we finished this year.

I never said Ryles would have us in the top 4 next year if he does how good and his a genius.

If injuries don't hit and we stay injury free we have the potential to push for a top 6 spot because there isn't much between 6th-12th in most seasons.

Sometimes its just down to the close games and how many of those you win.

Defence can be fixed pretty easily attitude and effort. That's what i want to see and will be keeping my eyes on.

Your kidding yourself if you think we showed consistent defensive grit and attitude during much of BA's tenure we finished bottom 4 in defence in 4 out of the 11 years under BA.
12th would be a huge underachievement given we have the Australian halfback and New Zealand five eighth. How many other NRL teams can boast about having that level of talent in their halves? The competition is weaker than it’s been for a while. We also have a genuine strike outside back in Lomax and an origin player in Hopgood. We have a bunch of other solid players as well in the rest of the squad. We should be aiming for top 8 minimum.

I hope Ryles can sort out his dummy half for 2025 soo training starts again soon and having our squad set sooner is always better!

Check out some of @King-Gutho94 posts about our win/loss and points conceded stats when we've had no Gutherson playing over past seasons.... The record is horrendous, representative halves or no representative halves.... If Gutherson moves on as expected, there is going to be a transition period and some short term pain I expect. I'd say Ryles acknowledges this but he is obviously prepared to take on the challenge. Gutho can't play forever, we need to start getting used to his absence some time or other...

I don't believe we're in a position to take short term pain. If we choose to move Gutho on, we have to have adequate replacements to cover for the loss.

How severe?
Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his left foot and underwent successful surgery to stabilise this. Jake has progressed out of his boot and has commenced running on an alter g treadmill.

We didn’t have a suitable replacement for him at fullback during those times. Now he isn’t even first choice fullback.

That would be great... I guess we need to wait and see who might be prepared to ask for an early release or get themselves sacked ahead of season 2025 cause at the moment there's nobody available...

Anyway guys, enough from me, you can either ridicule or support my comments all year. I've made my decision, and our season is over.

See you next year lads.

I could’ve sworn that somewhere in the 300 posts about it being the end of civilisation and you never ever going to post again and swearing that was the last post you were going to do, you posted that you were never coming back.

Not that I'm aware of.

I was obviously right with the result of Moses absence though, including that it was possible he'd played his last game with BA as the coach.
For clarity.

Someone has got far too much time on their hands.
Lol. It took about a minute while I'm waiting for an email.
I remembered it well cos I was going to Chip you for not f**king off until next yr but then I realised that it was just an emotional and possibly drunken response to the reality of the situation at the time. I took enough pity from that to change my mind.

Well in fairness, we are in the Jason Ryles thread, next years coach!

If I recall I was on a cruise ship at the time...drowning my sorrows that our season was over so quickly.

You are the one trying to downplay Reg’s loss, you will find plenty of posts by me saying the club is doing the right thing. Doesn’t mean he won’t leave a hole in our pack. You are the one who finally seem results driven unlike the last 11 years.

Interesting.
If we win half our games over the long term it will always be a pass.

Is the RCG loss a huge factor....

RCG played 14 games in 2023, we won 12. In 2024 he played 24 games, we won 7 games...
In 2023 we were f**ked by injuries/suspensions. This year we were just f**ked. It wasn’t helped by a couple of key injuries, but most of our senior players had career worst seasons. Were they underprepared or are they just too old? We might find out in 2025. It’s very exciting.
