Jason Ryles - Head coach of Parramatta from 2025

Isn’t that a major part of the issue, no foresight it appears and little real gravitas to get rep players and sort out the roster and cap later. Not only are ONeil and Rogers invisible , what planning did they undertake . No player apart from Lomax ( and he appears to be a BA signing) have we really gone for since 2021 that is at least an influential NRL player. FMD , mostly like rhis Year, a benchie, reserve graders from across the league and projects at that.

The dynamic duo will probably panic , and even stuff up the good fwds currently in Flegg, even Tuavati and Twidle aren’t signed for 2026, speed of execution isn’t their hallmark.

Good recruitment people sign players like the Raiders do, or build through their pathways ( ouch Roosters currently) and splash on rep players and leaders

Enough of what we have and been doing, it’s light years behind our competitors, blow R&R up and get some real heavy hitters and alpha males in there for a real change. That way , no more fluffy emails and self praise. The Board and dare I say Sarantinos , need to bite the bullet, sack their mates and MEGA ( make eels great again) . Sorry MITS , no offence meant re your politcal views, just what needs to be done
WTF have my political views got to do with it.
PS I am not the "tolerant" left

it depends who Ryles spoke to before he took the job on, mind you, it's an NRL coaching job...there's only 17 of those in the country and 5 or 6 of those coaches are guaranteed of a role regardless of their performance and positions on the ladder.
He turned down the dragons job because he wasn’t happy with the administration. He was obviously happy enough with ours.

Think it was more taking over the Storm, as was going to be Belamys last year

I reckon if Bellamy was signed long term, he would be in his 2nd year coaching the dragons
He has said a couple of times now that timing and conditions were not right for him to go to the dragons.

Maybe there were not happy with him bringing his own coaching team, which the eels clearly were ok with

He'd be the first bloke I'd approach, it would take something special to entice him back to Australia but you'd have to give it a red hot crack, I'd also try and get the REAL Frank Ponnisi.

problem is, our board are f**king toothless.

Why did he leave as CEO in the first place?

Back to the topic of Jason Ryles - my personal opinion is that he is potentially a very good coach but I believe he is being let down by the coaching team he appointed. My understanding is that the conditioning coach (Blair Mills?) has a Rugby Union background and we look gassed in all our games - far more than the opposition. Sam Moa is our defence coach and we have conceded 50 twice and over 20 almost every other game. Scott Wisemantel is our attack coach and we are struggling to score tries. I don't know, I just think he made some bad calls on his staff.

Of course the players have also let him down but are they doing what they're coached to do?

Takes a little time for any of those mentioned above to start to work.

You don't just click your fingers and the defence just comes together. sames as attack and fitness..

Why? That is what they are paid to sort out.
Immediate results? Of course not.
Regression? Unacceptable.

The players that have regressed are the markings that have been here long term...

You are the younger kids killing it.
Smith Iongi Lomax Tuivati.
