In Ciraldo’s first year I think it’s fair to say that they were a fair bit worse than we have been and had much higher expectation on them.

I just want to see us play with the same level of commitment and consistency that we have shown over the last 5-6 weeks for the remainder of the season. If we do that then that should be enough to avoid the spoon.

Next year we really should be pushing for the 8, but it will depend on what our final squad looks like before I judge Ryles too harshly.

Things take time. Inexperience and injuries have made it real tough...we are probably somewhere near where we should be for now. However, there has been a major shift in the way we play and our resolve. We could have easily won a couple that we lost and we wouldn't even be having this conversation. He is doing just fine.

I admire the guts Jason Ryles has shown in cleaning out (talented) old farts, replacing with (talented) youths, and it continues this weekend with Dylan Brown's replacement... will they win? Who knows or really cares, will they get valuable game experience? Hell Yes.
Cameron Cilraldo rebuilt Dogs and they are now winning well and mounting a top4 challenge... can you cast your mind back two seasons ago when they were winning f@#k all? Why not just give Ryles some time, besides, who else is there to chose from to replace him? And what guarantee would there be that they would do better? We have had 3 shocking performances for the year
Rd 1 v Melbourne
Rd 2 v Tigers
Rd 6 v Canberra

The Dogs game was bad in terms of errors but it took them a long time to put us away with a shitload of ball.

The other 5 losses well we were competitive in for most of it

Rd3 v Bulldogs - lacked class & direction while dominating the contest
Rd4 v Manly - Played average but still defended okay wasn't great but wasn't disgraceful
Rd9 v Sharks - Competed hard copped a few 50/50 calls against us which didnt help
Rd10 v Dolphins - Butchered that game should have won - I think Moses deserves some heat for that one we were in front and he should have got us
Rd14 v Penrith - Lacked the finishing touch but still went toe to toe with the 4-time defending premiers who probably played one of there better games defensively for the season.

Only the Storm never see their premiership window close, and even then their win rate drops while they ‘rebuild’. For the rest of us, some scapegoat always seems to ‘f**k it up’ after a period of success. It’s how the salary cap is supposed to work.
