Playing busted players with injuries at the back end of the season has been horrendous for us this year and last year as well.
Taking any player in with shoulder / elbow injuries that are not 100% will end in tears.
If JDB has to have needles for anything other than his hip that too will end up in tears.
If Mc Fookknuckle insists that busted players have to play then we could go 3 players down very early on and he will most likely still go with only 3 off the bench as 1 is there just to learn from the experience of watching.

Does anyone actually know JDB is still getting needled for the hip? I haven’t noticed the padding there for quite some time. His form dip came after origin and the virus where he lost 5 kgs. Is the hip still an issue?

If he is not right he is out that is it.Pick a fit player.JDB has been poor since origin and what has been achieved by picking him????
Ive had the privilege of talking to Jack briefly a couple of times and hes A Dragon through and through....Im pretty sure if he thinks he will be letting the team down he will withdraw himself.....and before anyone comments on hes been injured for ages and still played, this one is a semi final.......I think to be honest some of us are hoping he plays because hes JDB Origin player and an important part of our defensive unit but as you rightly point out if hes not fully right to go then he shouldnt....as it is Widdop cant be 100% and him alone is a risk

Yeah, I hope he’s well enough to play. He’s not gonna be 100% but there’s not going to be many players on either team who are. Glenn is just gonna make it in time from a calf injury. TPJ has been managing injuries with needles for over a month, including getting needled through trading and recovery sessions. McCullough got knocked cold two weeks ago. Lodge has played every game in the front row, there’s no way he’s not carrying injuries.
None of this is to say that Jack should play regardless. but He doesn’t need to be 100% because most players aren’t.

Give me your dealers number..... pretty please :clown:

I have never done drugs but I want to try what you've been taking .... mainly for heartache and pain relief

Don’t know what you can find at 3am :p

Have you watched Kahu play the last few weeks? Being shifted for Boyd to defend with Milford and then dragged from right wing during a game.

I did also say that Lomax should play time there. He’s the passer close to the line. It’s a scenario situation, not much point bombing Oates from close range, for example.

Do you prefer Pereira over Aitken? McDonald playing right over left?

That’s the problem though, it was stated in an article a couple of weeks ago that the Origin players decided themselves to play through. It’s not the players job to decide, it’s the coaches. If, as we could all see, some of them needed rest and recovery time it’s the coaches job to step in and say so.
Players like JDB, Sims, Frizell, Graham will bust thier ass for the club and do whatever it takes for the team, but it should not be up to them to decide, that’s why clubs have coaches and a full medical staff, sometimes they have to be saved from themselves.

Hey that’s a bit harsh. I’m sure Jai Feild learnt a lot from his 80 minuite stint on the bench last week, even more from his dropping this week after his poor bench performance.
The main thing I’d imagine he learned was he should proberbly find another club.

Your right mate...but as we all know they wernt even given a spell when a game was well and truly lost or won..thats why at times we didnt even use our full 17 the staff and coach should have taken it out of the players hands and forced a spell or replacement

He is a 50/50 proposition this week. Fingers crossed it comes good- at least we play Sunday which gives him a little extra time

Well the formula was wrong last season and again this season. There is nothing to be gained playing busted or fatigued. Resting a player until he is fully fit has it's merits even if we lose a couple of games along the way.

Now it is a knockout finals game and we don't have the depth of players or the fresh and fit players to take the field. If we win on Sunday it will because of a miracle; the Broncos would have to beat themselves and I can't see that happening.

Bring on the new coach and give us something to hope for in 2019.

O/T,

Same story each year.
Don’t blend the up & coming players in throughout the year.
Play the stars only.
Burnt out after Origin.
Playing busted.
Play em till they fall.
No back experience when required.

Same situation each year.
When will it end?
Hopefully very soon.

People who praise McIdiot should read this thread.
McIdiot is a failure in player management, bringing juniors through. It has been proven that other coaches adopt measures to bring juniors through in case of injuries and resting players after SOO.

Which is why we always sign journeymen because they’re easier to coach than a junior. As far as L plates concerned if the choice came down to an “experienced” player or a talented rookie in the same position well we all know which one he’d pick

Poor old Mary, can't catch a break. You lot say either "he shouldn't be forcing players to play busted!"... When contradicting evidence subsequently comes to light, "What's he doing? He should be telling them they can't play!"

Stop trying to have it both ways.
