As an outsider I dont see why you'd change a formula that got you to a grand final for one that was struggling at the start of the season. Given you strengthen your forward pack with poore and the shack and you have a strike centre making his way in the team will already be better. Good on Robson for securing a two year deal.

Because, to Parramatta supporters the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side of the fence.
Most are not happy unless they are worrying about what will happen in 2011, let alone what happens next season.
Forget about the coach knowing what he wants.....They seem to know BETTER. Buttttttttt.....That's what football is all about.
Creating conversation, enjoying the games and following the Eels through thick and thin.
Come on board, enjoy the trip. We may bag each other, but we respect each other....

I too am very excited at the prospect of Tom Humble joining the Club. I have heard rave reviews about him.
Even though the Queensland Cup is regarded as a better standard than the NSW Cup, I would like to see how Tom handles the defensive aspect of NRL. He is a great carrier of the ball. But it is no good if he scores two tries a game and concedes three.
Ben Barba is an attacking machine also, but a target in defence.
One thing Jeff Robson has shown he can cut the mustard in defence, and he has the "Barellan' toughness to go with it. If you've got that Barellan toughness, you are one tough hombre...Give me a half back you don't have to hide in defence- you can teach a bloke how to kick, but you can't teach ticker

I agree with you but that is why I would have KK in the side because he will do a similar defence load to Robson but will add more in attack. Humble or Mitchell off the bench.

i don't understand how some of you blokes can rate a guy from what you hear and you've probably never seen over a kid with decorated honours at every junior representative level coming out of our own nursery in kk.

break out season for this kid.

and while i'm there, kk6 morts7

I have never been to the Greek Isles either, but from what I've heard, I rate it as a holiday destination...

Not sure if KK is the organising halfback in the mould of Robson, so I like the idea of him playing 6 as well.

Something no one has mentioned yet.....

6. Tahu

???

Played a bit of inside centre in rugby and spoke about how he had developed his skills. i.e left to right passing and kicking as a result.

I've mentioned that a few times, actually. I reckon it would be worth a try for sure. I wonder what his kicking game is like?

I like Jeff Robson but I think we are paying good money for a Wenty player.
Where do we put all these halfbacks ??

The one man everyone is forgetting is TOM HUMBLE !!!!!
Sit down and thiink about that name for a while.
Tom is the real deal.

I believe that Tom Humble will be our 5/8 for next year with Morts at halfback.
KK will be at 14.
That leaves Robbo as a good Wenty player.

And if that happens, it will also leave one of: Burt, Inu, Reddy or Grothe in reserve grade. Interesting, isn't it? Big chance an injury will decide that though.

Robson is awesome at offloading, his style is unique, he has his flaws, but on what he's a must re-signing, even if he's insurance.

Ive seen Tom play a fair amount of times. The good things about him -

1. You cant teach pure speed - he has it in bucketloads.
2. You dont become the Qld Cup player of the year by being a mug.
3. He is a wonderful goal kicker
4. A good kicker in general play.
But most of all -
5. He could have taken the interest by WT or Cowboys (where he always wanted to go) and signed with them but decided that due to the fact the eels were honest and persistant with him, he couldnt turn his back on them.

I ve spoken with Tom a couple of times after games and he is one of the most determined, level headed kids Ive ever seen. There is simply no mug about him.

As regards KK, 2010 is certainly his breakout year because he has some competition snapping at his heels - so my advice to him is put everything into the off and pre season because you know that both Morts and Humble will be doing the same.

Good wrap mate. Thanks for sharing.
I have some great mates involved with Souths Logan and they, too, rate Tom Humble VERY highly.

I think Neil Henry realised he stuffed up with this kid by offering him a fulltime contract and a guarenteed firstgrade spot covering for Matt Bowan at fullback at the 11th hour.

I think we're very lucky to have him.

We have a halves pairing with proven first grade experience in Robson and Mortimer that compliment each other very well. Humble and Keating would have to really impress to start round 1. The Qld Cup is a much lower level competition and tearing them up there is no guide. Keating has had little football since returning, something an off season doesn't help.

But is Humble a halfback? because Mortimer is a 6 and the first choice. Keating is more of a 6 also.

this is the reason why they have little things called off season training and trial matches ER..come November all 4 players will be on an even keal and I'm sure we've got the necessary staff in place that can identify who our 6,7 and 14 will be.

I haven't seen this much anticipation about a signing on this forum since Josh Davis and Chris Thorman.

Looking promising !!

Since when have we had so much speed in our halves: Humble, Keating and Mortz all are very quick players with fancy footwork. If they are in the 6, 7 and 14 (That will probably decided later on) they could be very difficult to handle behind our pack.

Add into that Hayne, Burt, Inu, Tahu who also has fancy footwork, we'll be all dancing.

Hell, could see Fui, Caylo, Poore, HIndy doing the cha cha

What about Fuis footwork to score his last try in the GF, this is the reason I think he could make it as a backrower running wide instead of at big fellas. I wouldnt mind seeing

Cayless
MK
Poore
Hindy
Fui
Mateo

I think this would disturb our balance of the squad (only leaving Mannah on the bench as a reserve prop) but had Fui been played as a backrower earlier he could be wearing the #12 now IMO.
I would like to see Fui run a little wider next year at halfbacks instead of at Props.

Have been saying this for a long while. It will make his shelf life longer.

I think DA will use him off the bench as a mr Fixit PROP or SECONDROWER

If we are dominating in the first 20, he will come on as a wide running forward.

If we are being dominated, he will come on running up the middle.

As a second rower, he can also stay out of some of the big collisions with the other props as well, let the young guys do that like Benny and Poore.

It will give him more energy for the hitups.

Lastly, I wouldn't mind seeing HIndy having a spell on the bench too also to prolong his shelf life considering he is now starting to carry injuries.
