The socks and shorts look a different shade of orange than the jersey to me... :?

I used the same colours but the template is still a work in progress. Yesterday was the last day I had free to get it done before the deadline.

Gaz, would white and black hoops have worked for the socks in your submission?

Would throw the balance of colours off and look like it was from a separate uniform. Its important to give each side of ther merger equal representation but I don't think it has to be at the expense of the uniform aesthetics (Nth Eagles were terrible with this).

Although the jersey/socks is closer to the Balmain style, the black jersey/white shorts/black socks is more closely associated with Wests. Wests DID wear black shorts for the most part but the white shorts differentiate from Balmain's, adds significant white without over-complicating the shorts and socks, and differentiates them from Penrith and the Warriors who wear all black. At the very least, Wests would have better representation in the uniform than they currently have. For 2015 I'd introduce a white away jersey with black shorts and the same socks:

Meaning that Balmain does not have too strong a representation in the identity.

On another note, its good to see the Tigers trying this out. They've had a massive identity crisis over the past decade and are giving the fans a go. The popularity of the WiL and heritage jerseys in the past few weeks gives me hope that they run with something more traditional for 2014.

You look at Gaz's designs and a few of the others here, and then look at what the tigers actually wear and you wonder how the f**k the club get it so wrong design after design????

They've had one decent jersey in their 13 year existence, damn shame considering the potential the colour scheme and so forth could provide them. Hope you lads get a shot at this hey.

You're right, the colours have so much potential. Plus the two identities work pretty well together yet they've tried to make a third identity over the past decade and it just hasn't worked.

I remember when alternate jerseys were made compulsory the Dragons asked the fans to submit designs. They put the top six fan designs on the website (mine was among them) and then went ahead and used the manufacturer submitted blood and bandages jersey instead.

I wasn't happy.

I like GAZF's proposal for the Wests Tigers home jersey, but it has got me wondering whether they would rule it out simply because it is black. There are already two other teams who wear black home jerseys. No other teams wear orange. The Tigers may consider orange to be their best option for brand distinction.

As much as I like Gaz's WT design as a jersey, I don't think that it'd ever get accepted for the Wt's as it looks too 'Balmain'. The Wests half would cry blue murder with no white in the jersey, even though the design IS a Magpies design, the differences are just too minor to be seen by 99.8% of the fan base.

the 0.2% is us on here...

GAZF has posted a design before of an orange jersey with a thick black V below a thin white V that they might find more acceptable.

Orange IS their most unique colour but its also exclusively a Balmain colour. It would be like the Northern Eagles using the moniker and primary colour from only one side of the merger...oh wait. Other than that, the midgets have latched onto orange as their primary colour which makes the colour less unique in that region.

Wests in black makes for 3 teams in that colour; one of which is in a different market (NZ, who should not be wearing black anyway) and the other in the same market (Penrith). Two teams in the same market wearing a neutral colour such as black is not unprecedented and I think that the uniforms would be distinctive enough, especially if Penrith goes ahead with their rebrand and uses something like the licorice allsorts jersey. A similar case could be brought up for blue; the Knights and Eels use a near identical shade of blue but the jerseys are easily distinguished because of the secondary colours and styling. Likewise, the Roosters, Cowboys and Storm would not be confused.

If Wests fans aren't already crying blue murder then they are blind. The current home jersey looks like someone dropped the Balmain jersey in a blender.

I've actually made a black/white/black jersey/shorts/socks and added orange as the accent as opposed to white being the accent colour on the current design. A thin white stripe between the double striping could work but I wouldn't want to add too much more white than that.

I hope its more than 0.2% that sees it that way anyway...

I moved away from that design as the orange still gives too much of a Balmain vibe. Could work as an alt though.

I think the Roosters foundation design (blue with thin, adjacent red and white horizontal stripes) could look good in Wests Tigers colours, no matter whether they used black or orange as the main colour.

I liked their original heritage jumper; white/black/orange even width bars. If they didn't market it as a heritage jersey it may have been more popular with the fans.
