It looks more like a footy jersey than a lot of other teams'. At least it has a collar.

I like it.

:lol::lol:

You sound like youre still trying to convince yourself. LOL.

Been there, done that.:(

Dragons 2007 merchandise brochure turned up in my email about half and hour ago. Please forgive dodgy MS Paint effort.

Obviously only minor changes, as foreshadowed earlier in this thread.

That's what gets me. Such minor changes, but to have the current strip you have to fork out cashola every f**king year :fist:

That said if/when ours changes I'll buy it  lol.

f**k that. Just buy and old jersey and stick with it. You look more hardcore at games as well, compared to all the trendies sporting the latest jersey. I don't get why St George don't get the collar of their jersey white and the sleeve ends red?

You used to be able to do just that on Ebay, not anymore, its all new, autographed and framed.....plus most people grow as they age. :(
.......my Magpies jumper is 30+ years old, once upon a time it fit me.

Why not just buy every 5-6 years, once the jerseys get worn out or don't fit any more?

If you don't have the money or don't want to part with it - why do people feel the need to buy jerseys every time there is a slight change to the design or sponsors or whatever? It doesn't make you any less of a fan!

Hell, I was wearing my 2001 Broncos jersey happily until before last season, when I saw the white 2005 away one on sale for $70.

The only ones that I really try and get as soon as they come out are the commemorative one - so I jumped right on that return to Lang Park strip from 2003.

Happy with my 2005 one for a long time yet, but will have to buy the 20th season one in 2007 to keep ;-)

i still wear my 99 downtown duty free souths jersey to every game but as souths fans i guess we get away with it a bit better seeing as though the changes to our uniform is usually so minimal.
After seeing next seasons design though, i think im going to fork out on a new 1, just waiting to see what the sponsor on the away jersey looks like before i decide which to buy.

Nice stuff from Manly, but the collar has to be there.

Lets have a round-up:
ALL TEAMS - new Telstra logo
Bulldogs - no announcement as yet
Broncos - new jerseys coming, not yet seen.
Canberra - new jersey with new sponsor. See posts about 10 after this one.
Cronulla - skye blue promoted to main jersey. Horrifying, ugly, disgusting away strip still being used IIRC.
Gold Coast - goes without saying
Manly - new jerseys released - see post 250 or visit www.manlyseaeagles.com.au
Melbourne - no word as yet
Newcastle - no major changes.
New Zealand - no major changes.
North Queensland - no word as yet
Parramatta - new jerseys released - viewable at www.parraeels.com.au. In addition a retro and special white strip are due.
Penrith - new away strip released recently. See first 50-odd posts of this thread, or visit www.panthers.com.au
Saints - Same deal, different shaped V though apparently. See post 242.
Souths - Completely reworked. Check out www.souths.com.au or the first 100-odd posts of this thread.
Sydney Roosters - No major changes, addition of centenary (predom. red) strip.
Wests Tigers - No major changes. (this would have to be their longest serving jersey yes?)

By the way, my belief is that t-shirt collars will go the way of V-necks in the '70s and '80s- trendy and soon near all teams will have them, but they will eventually faze out and collars will return. I'm dreading the idea of the Broncos new jersey/s. I'm wondering if there's going to be pink on it somewhere or maybe it'll be sleeveless like an AFL jersey to "make it more aerodynamic and imitate the apache braves of the wild".

I doubt it, I believe the high, tight T-shirt type collarless neckline is to prevent a defender grabbing hold around that part of the jersey, the button up collared jumpers and the old V necks give something more to grab than the t shirt type dont./

I disagree with that one. The v-neck is the same as the round collar, in that there is nothing really to grab.

Why would you worry about the Broncos new jersey?

From my understanding you don't support them - you hate them.

Right, theyre the same.

The T-shirt one goes right up to under the chin, the V neck finishes about a foot below it.....what they grab is the edge of the shirt, the lower its cut, the easier to grab it, the higher the harder it is...quite simple really.

No, but I still do feel for their fans who feel obliged to go out and buy their beloved team's new jersey, and the way Broncos marketing takes them for a ride by coming out with absolute crap.

Those are the earlier ones. About a year or two ago Souths had a v-neck on their away jersey, but the collar was alot shorter. A short v-neck collar will work fine.
