Rod Peake, who played in the backs for Erina JBC and A grade last year, is in the UK, trialing with the Celtic Crusaders.

A few more players for Campbelltown Eagles - Troy Gibbs (Mt Annan) and Paul Neville (Camden).

Cronulla Caringbah are following Campbelltown's lead of signing locals with players coming from Gymea, Taren Point, St Josephs, Kurnell and Como Jannali. They have adopted the Sydney Bulls model seeking a $1000 sponsorship from 100 local businesses. So they will defintely have room under the points cap to play David Peachey if he is so inclined.

A 3rd Entrance player, Scott Hutchinson, has gone to Wyong, so that means that 5 have gone to P/L, 4 to other JBC clubs and 3 to Wyong.

I see that Josh Cattel has signed with Souths Logan in Qld. Cattel played 5/8 for Asquith in the first few games on entering the JBC in 2005, before coach Horo sent him back to Cliff Lyon's Narraweena A Grade team.

I'm hearing that former Balmain and Bradford player Michael Withers will be turning out for Windsor this year.

Actually it might be the Panther's premier league side he might be playing for rather than Windsor in the JB Cup.

Blake Dureau goes alright. Quality 5/8 who had a short stint at Wests Tigers a few years ago before getting homesick. Cousin of Newcastle's Scott Dureau.

I know it is only 9's and it depends on the opposition, but Shellharbour demonstrated far more in attack on saturday than they did in last years comp.

2 more trials for Saturday night at Leichhardt Oval.

Mounties vs Wests P/L at 6pm
Belrose vs BRET P/L at 7.30pm

The Wests team listing indicates that the Sydney Bulls have suffered a second defection from the 4 signings they announced in early October. Former St George utility, Pat Rosser is listed in the Wests team (compounding Tim Wynns's defection to Wenty).

A couple of other players listed in the Wests team are Dean Loder, who played JBC and A Grade for Chester Hill (his junior club) last year, and Chris Aho, who has spent the last 2 years with Easts RU after playing with Newtown JBC in 2005
