I wish him all my best. He is one hell of a player. Should have played Origin this year and will no doubt be there next year as part of the deal.

I don't blame you guys as you are just following your club however surely you must be disappointed at the way your club just buys the latest sensation on the block each year. Rugby League is plainly corrupt. The strong get stronger and the weak get weaker.

Just like his brother I will follow his progress with interest. Enjoy.

woodgers, I do feel sympathy for you kermies who have wraps on Joel. None of us likes to lose a favourite son. Obviously, his decision isn't about the money and more about being where he is going to be happier and no one should begrudge a person that.

Anyway, he'd better be as good as you lot make him out to be.

Way proud, Cullus !!

No, I'm sure Ricky would have asked one of the minions to do that. So, on the one hand you all whinged like bitches when Joel wasn't selected for rep and now your going to whine like bitches when he is. f**kING HYPOCITES some of you are.

either way the chances of him staying at canberra were slim. they (raiders fans) wouldve given it to whoever he signed with.

I don't blame the supporters, I do blame your club however for constantly poaching from other junior bases. But in this case the way Joel Monaghan has acted is utterly disgraceful.

Don't be too upset at us, Roosters fans. If the roles were reversed I am sure you would understand how we feel. It's just very depressing to watch my club go to the sh*tter to next year while yours continues to get stronger at our expense. Geez Phil gould is a knob btw.

Azza, we did not poach Joel in anyway, shape or form. His manager, advised him to move on and he has, for less money, but better opportunities. Of course you are disappointed, but blame your club admin, they are the ones to blame. Players are leaving left right and centre at the moment.

Are you kidding? have a look at the Raiders forum... we are furious at our club management and coach. They are imbeciles. But I just find it very hard to cop it when you continue to go from strength to strength while we just get weaker and weaker. How is this going to benefit the NRL?

Then why are you here saying we shouldn't be buying players when you have problems within your own club to worry about. NO, I don't read the Raiders forum, so I've no idea what is being said.

But you only have to read the NRL forum, I mean 5 roosters/monaghan threads LMAO !!

Read carefully, I have never said that, please don't misquote me. Rest assured I am upset at our club but as a fan there isn't much I can do until our management move over. I am also upset at a system which perpetuates the pattern as I said earlier of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Have some sympathy, I know it's hard when you finish in the top 2 every year (remember, the Raiders use to do that regularly as well), but to know we are royally screwed for the next season is very very painful.

have you given heaps to the Warrios for buying Wikki..do you realise that our offer to him was t he lowest tabled - maybe he isn't in it for the money - seems to me Canberra were in a destruct mode and he wanted out! Davico, Wikki, Monaghan who is next??

Is that a question or a statement? And it's "Wiki". No, I haven't been giving Ruben any stick whatsoever. It's disappointing to see him go but he has given heart and soul to the Raiders for 10 years. He owes us nothing. It is a little different with Monaghan. And when did I say he left for money? Please read my posts more carefully.

No, I think you may have missed our point Penelope. I think Joel should have been picked before origin 1. After the way Lewis and Rooney performed there was no way he deserved to replace them. He will get picked next year because he plays for the right club. He knew staying at the Raiders he would never get a blue jumper, now that he is playing for the coach he is assured. How are we supposed to negotiate with players when your club has a clear upper hand in that regard?

I don't care if it was the lowest offer Ozzie. That backs up my point above. I don't know how they audit the cap, however I bet his Personal sponsorship is ginormous. I think that is how the Roosters afford a lot of their good players, the Roosters would have some very credible sponsors to give the 'extra' to the 25 top players. If anyone can tell me where the information is about how the clubs are Audited I would be greatful because at the moment I really don't know and can only guess. If the personal sponsors can do that then the cap is no doing its job. Then the only way to police would be tax records, however even then I knowof a top player who has a personal sponsor that buys him Spa baths, Kitchens etc.
