back in those days no club really had their hands in anything
teams were selected alot more fairly, granted some bias was creeping in but not nearly as much as these days

joel has all but confirmed that he left because it would give him a greater chance at getting a rep jersy. Watch it, he will be playing for NSW next year, would he play for NSW at canberra... maybe but the chances are alot higher at the chooks and i think thats wrong

Don Furner was a selector for NSW and Australia and he was involved with the Raiders and his heart is still with the Raiders.

Manly as has been mentioned previously owned the game in the 70's and early 80's.

Souths in the 50's

Saints in the 60's.

Selectors do favour players from winning teams or players who form combinations with others that are already there.

Johns, Gidley, Tahu perfect example.

Thts right mojo. Daley is also involved in selections, hence some of the selection deals done. That leaves just one question, how did Kennedy get selected? Do Manly have some sort of input into the selections also?
Fulton is a selector.
Thanks Melon. I knew that. I was just being a smartarse. ;-)

very true southern and its the same deal

the inform player should get the spot, no matter what colour his jersy or who he has a good connection with

it works for both the roosters and st goerge
do you honestly think every one of your players deserved to be in ahead of some others? i dont and not many do, same with st george

fact is you have a much higher chance of getting rep jersys if your at east or the dragons... nest season Monnas will play no better than he is this year and he will be in a blues jersy... mark my words

Well i've got no problems with Mini at fullback ... he's still miles ahead of the nearest rival in terms of metres gained, Hodgson came close but lately the truth shone in terms of ability. Mini is still averaging close to 200 metres a game this year, which is unheard of.

Fittler at 5/8 ... well i still believe Freddy is FAR too good to retire at 32. Its a crime that this man is forced to retire while overrated wife-farkers like Johns is given a free ride in the NRL. He OWNED Lockyer .. game, set and MATCH !!

Finch played in the second origin game ... obviously there was a kerfuffle over his selection, but in the end i think he did rather well. I actually thought he was unlucky to miss out on the 3rd game.

Fitzy ... well if you DARE argue about this legend, then i'll just shoot you right now for having zero clue about rugby league ;-)

Wing .. he was just SOOOO much better than Butterarse in the 3rd game it wasnt funny. When Wing played dummy half, NSW were 3 times faster and more deadly. Butterarse slowed the game down.

----- thats it ... thats all the representation we had for NSW over the 3 games. I dont give a shit about Qld. If Monaghan wants to play origin then he better f**king pull his finger out !! He has zero Roosters in front of him in the centre spot, and NONE on the wings. Its not like there is a traffic jam of Roosters in front of him

If anyone can tell me where the information is about how the clubs are Audited I would be greatful because at the moment I really don't know and can only guess. If the personal sponsors can do that then the cap is no doing its job. Then the only way to police would be tax records, however even then I knowof a top player who has a personal sponsor that buys him Spa baths, Kitchens etc.

I believe Monaghan has gone to the Roosters to get a rep jumper. He has probably seen, like we all have, how biased the selection process is and wants to be a part of it. Why wouldn't he. Until the Roosters are stopped from selecting the NSW side, players will always be enticed to go to them in hope of getting favourable treatment. This is the advantage the Roosters have at the moment to sign quality players for less money than other clubs.
ahh come on - you are a fool of the highest degree - we have slecotrs - ye selctors 0 - picking teams - if Gus Gould had his way Barrett wouldn't have played the last SOO but the selectors selectored him and looked at what happenned..we won.

Now to your pathetic efforts of a post - how come the Roosters select the SOO??

facts are that if you play for easts there is a good chance you'll get a rep jumper and IMHO that is not right, rep jersys should not be dictated by what colour jersy you wear, but sadly thats how it is atm and THAT is why Monaghan left

Im hoping ricky is the answer, he is a good, honest man and hopefully that will spell the end of the Gould Bias, but i have a sick feeling Gould wont be as far away from origin as we'd all like him to be

Gotta feel for Sticky, the poor bloke is trying to coach a team with gould sticking his mug in every 2 seconds... Ricky dosnt need gould

Raider 69 you have no idea how our club works and you have just proven it be this ridiculous statement . - Ricky is the man..Gould is a co-ordinator and nothing more -

He would be playing with a better team with better players with him - that gives him a good chance of being a SOO - does the difference of a club sitting NO 1 on the Comp mean anything - does the Premier side sitting very high in the comp mean anything? Does an undefeated Jerey team mean anything? It shows the strength of a club and why wouldn't you go with the strength instead of going to a lowly club like Manly and yourselves.

Why don't you go and attack Warriors for signing Wikki??

i know joel will be playing under a better coach, along side better players but im simply saying that if you play for easts you have a better chance of getting rep jersys and dont be nieve, its true, the same can be said for the dragons

Personally i think Stuart will go down as possibly the best coach ever, but atm he is being under mined by Gould IMHO... and thats all it is, an opinion
