Why should he retire.... it's not reoccuring injuries, it's new ones

Let's face it, his jaw was about the only bone, tendon, muscle or ligament not affected by his long run of injuries. His groin, back, neck, knee and jaw have all been injured in the last few years -- there is a lot of injuries there that have the potential to flair up again which is more of a concern than an ongoing injury.

I'm guessing he won't retire though -- my medical assessment indicates a month or two at worst..... not a whole season.

But in any case, it was only a matter of time wasn't it? For the cynics like me who have been waiting for the magic number to be revealed, we now finally have it: It's the number six -- the number of rounds he'd last before injurying himself.

Thank goodness that's over, the suspense was killing me.

To be fair Oswin, Joey was shaping up nicely. He's been out of the game for almost two years and the pace has changed alot since he left. A few more weeks and I'd say he'd be back in form. I've got faith in the guy, I still rate him as the worlds best player.

I'd hate to see him retire now and Newcastle get the raw end of the deal.

Make all the comments you like(moderaters) agreed that's what the forum is all about. So maybe you should realise that some posts are going to inflame some situations and instead of taking yourselves so seriously how about just lightening up a bit instead of being so thin skinned.

I'm not doubting his abilities on the field MrCharisma -- there is no (nor has their ever been) suggestion that he wasn't capable of playing at his best oncemore.

What I question is his ability to remain on the field and not get injured. Every player has his moments when he cops an injury, but Johns' woes are hurting the team and the club. He's a superstar when fit, and even when not. No one's doubting his capability of returning to his best. I just knew, like many, that the fairytale return wouldn't last. The guy is injury-proned.... it's the tragedy of his career.

Dead set soe of you make me embarrassed to be a Knight fan.

My team showed ticker, heart, courage and pride in that jersey today. Tonight i am damn proud to be a Knights fan.

Win, lose or draw i love my beloved Knights and will cheer and appluad all season long.

Injurys killed us today.

To the imbociles suggesting Johns retire, i saw a man out there today, a man who was showing the form that brought us two premierships back up the F3. He was brilliant today and if he wasn't forced from the field i guarantee you we would have won comfortably.

I feel for Johns tonight and have passed on my well wishes to his brother Matthew.

Fickle fans

Id say watching today that Johns was just back to some form..he was busy and tackling everything and setting up tries...you cant do more than that in your comeback..Unfortunate injury but he will be back for the end of the season

today's injury was a freak one. there are a lot of times when in the game people get knocked in the jaw and nothing happens. i dont see this as season ending or for joey to reitre.....hopefully he will be back on the field in a month or so....he may not be playing rep football this year but lets hope he gets back on to the field soon

Some people try to prove points using their anger.

Let's try to put down some figures on paper...

Joey costed us alot of money for 3 years of continuous injuries. We got nothing in return.

Because he's captian the whole team was disabled because the captain is one that runs the team.

We've been laughing stock of NRL with people predicting when Joey is gonna get injured.

I have reputation of excellent employee in my workplace but if I dont turn up 3 days in row they will find replacement for me.

We've been disabled to keep other important players for guy who watches games from his special place. No problem with that, just let Ch 9 pay for it.

FOR GOD'S SAKE LET'S RECOGNISE BEDSEY'S EFFORTS AND LOYALTY AND GIVE HIM CAPITENCY.
