Geez I've been impressed with him this year. He has really made a difference. Offers another kicking game and his experience has been invaluable

His kick just before the Bakuya try was a beauty and he was there to make the tackle

my thoughts are... he needs to committ to what he is doing...

by that i mean im finding him ducking out from dummy half when the markers arent exactly square but he is holding it out looking to pass. Id liek to see him just floor it, either make the break or get tackled, make the defenders committ to doing something. A bit like degois forces them to do.

But a solid rock he has been.

While i agree with ausguy. Tonight was a waste, he was never gonna get that penalty. Hedging his bets was a better play tonight.

I was happy we signed Morris back in the day, when everybody was giving him shit, telling anybody who would listen he was useless.
I knew what he was capable of, and this year he has delivered.
I know he signed another extension. But i hope the resign him for 2013 as well.

Until this season, I had always been waiting and wanting for someone better to come along so we could get rid of him, not that he was terrible, but he was a bit bland.

This season I think he has snuck his way up into the top handful of hookers running around and I would be glad to keep him on longer... It will be interesting to see how next year pans out with him and Degois.

Morris has been good in his time for us. Next year our bench will have some punch with Taga, Tupou and De Gois.

Morris has been great this year. Why we persist with a rotational hooker on the bench (either Flano or Aiton) is beyond me.

I think he has been brilliant this year.
With him and De Gois here next year, there is no way Aiton or Flanagan can make the team unless we have injuries. Morris to start, De Gois off the bench.

What's the go with Toops? Rumours a few weeks back that we are looking to offload him. We're finally using him the right way off the bench, and he's looking like a world beater again. Is he contracted for next year?

As for Morris, been good for sure. Like Aus's comments about just going for a scoot and forgetting about the pass - normally leads to a quick play the ball and momentum. Degwah's bread and butter play. Not sure what will happen next year with these 2.

I think Flanagan is being picked purely because he is capable of filling in at the halves as well.

Funny, when Flanagan and De Gois were Farah's deputies I always thought Flanagan was far superior to De Gois.

On Morris, I have to say, the guy was always one of my favourites when at WT, just because I like an underdog. A part of me is incredibly jealous to see that he is going so well for the Sharks in his proper spot. For mine, Morris's name should come up in Origin talk. He's like Ennis, except fitter, a far better defender and no shit talk. He is actually superior to Ennis in every way. He's also in far better form than Farah.

I think flanno can't manage minutes with our forward pack given Gallen goes 80 so he puts a hooker on there so he doesn't have to worry about his rotations. Would also explain why sometimes we get a player for 10 minutes a game. Flanno is learning I guess...

I can see the benefit with Morris/De Gois next year, it will give Flano the extra option, in seeing how game is going to have both on field at same time as well, this is where we could really do damage.

Yes Flano is not what we need, when Keely is back this year he should take Flano's bench spot

I for one can't wait to see Kelly sniffing around offloaders. We have few good ones working now, and will have more in the armoury next year.

With Gards and Kelly we will have some great attacking opportunities.

Interesting times.

I'll say it again. I like what I see in Kelly.

Flanagan owned De Gois when at the Tigers, but he never kicked on, whereas DeGois did (while at the Sharks)

Flanagan should have walked into and held down the hooking role at Canberra.

Morris has always been a very good hooker, and the few times he played there for the Tigers he always looked a million times better and much more comfortable.

He does have one annoying trait which he does too often at dummy half, and that is not passing the ball straight from the play the ball, he'll always run a few steps with it first then pass it. He gets away with it with a good strong pack around him, like he has now, but when the pack is being dominated, it kills momentum real quick and stunts the attack massively.

Other than that, he has a good kicking game from dummy half and will tackle all day long.

I'd like to put an idea out there and see what others think. With an abundance of hookers in 2012 at the Sharks, I think one of the positions that Cronulla lack depth is in the centres. Over the years Cronulla has had great success with large wide running centres like McGaw and McKenna to name two. I think John Morris is being wasted in at hooker and he could fit the bill as well as increase his playing longevity by being groomed as a centre running out wide. He is athletic enough and has good speed and bulk to break tackles plus seems to have adequate defensive and ball skills. What do others think?
