We need youth Cardy.
We need stability.
The same team on the park week after week so bomber can start to sramp his style.

Wade.
Moylan.
Feefs.
SJ.
Feki.

Huge dollars.
Injuries.
The amount of game time lost by these guys has stuttered our season.

I’m not against youth by any means but ya need old hard heads too.

I just think we are stuck with some of the older, more expensive guys.

Things will ease up after next year but going to be a tough year & a bit.

This year has been tough enough. Next year I’m looking to see Morris really take charge ,older heads are moved to the bench cept for Josh M (he has been great this year). Dymock moved on, Morris needs a better brain sitting next to him.
Chad’s days are numbered and I want to see his future replacement get game time. With Jayden leaving we need a hooker on the bench or playing. Personally I would like to see BB have a run at half. I know it’s out of left field but he is a natural and is wasted at hooker. My view is a hooker should be a forward, I’m thinking Glanville style player. This would also allow SJ to take full control of the attack.
Just my opinion, lucky I’m not coach eh.

HAve you singled out which year in the next 20 years , you would like to get close to a premiership, with that kind of plan?

Yes I have. 2020 if our forwards fire. All our games will be away games and we seem to loose way to many home games. Pressure will be off Morris so all out attack. We go back to back 20 and 21.

We have a fantastic crop of young forwards coming through but they may not be ready until our old heads retire.
Thomas Giles is so highly rated, Franklin Pele is highly rated, Cruz is very good, Teig Wilton, Josh Carr, Billy ect
Apart from Billy, none are ready now, but will be. So do we sign more older guys on short deals or do we sign 24-26 years olds on long term deals and then complain when our juniors leave?

We blood them into the team and be patient with them.

For too long we have been recruiting a lot of average players and not giving juniors with a huge upside a chance.

We have the perfect coach to bring them through at the moment because he knows these young kids better than most.

The pendulum has to swing towards our juniors now because there’s an abundance of talent coming through.

Once players contracts like Townsend, Dugan etc. run out you don’t re sign them. Put that money into upgrading juniors that have shown they are First Graders rather than letting Clubs pinching them with money and opportunity.

Agree Slayer, the time is right to tip the scales from experience to youth.

Unfortunately some big contracts committed to a few for the next 2 years might mean we lose some.

I think the club has done the right thing locking up a few of the better ones recently, not on ridiculous coin.

This Giles kids name keeps popping up, very curious to see how he goes.

Pele has been very good off the bench for the Flegg Boys. Scores almost every week, and he's a big boy too.

This is what makes a man manager like bellamy so successful.
Robinson is showing great traits in this area as well.

Carefully filtering the young crop in to have that successful blend of youth and experience.
Both are strengths.

Too much of the old and you have flannos approach.
Too much of the young and you have what brownie faced at newcastle. Kids who cant compete for 80 minutes for 26 rounds.

Our most consistent performers this year have been Nikora. Xerri. Williams. Uele. Plus Ronaldo in very limited opportunites.
New blood.

Prior. Woods. Bakuya. Feefs. Notta so impressive.

Unfortunately winning the competition has some negatives.

Harder to let players go...geez even most in here haven’t wanted them to leave, up until this year anyway.

That’s why I don’t mind Kyle leaving. We have kept the best from Kyles time at the club now it’s time to move up the next lot. Sure mistakes will get made , players will loose form over a season , they can be rested , it’s called learning . I trust Morris with these young guys.

Ha. As if we'd be patient as supporters.

First bad chip kick they'd be on the chopping block.

This could be the year we don’t make the semi’s after regular playoff games the past few seasons.

But the players we blooded this year could be what gets us into the finals next year.

And of course next year you blood a few more.

Before you know it you have a regular top 4 team again that is sustainable.

What's Luke Lewis doing these days?
I hope we get him into the coaching system in some way, shape or form. He was a very smart player and I dare say would make a great coach some day.
