If JT wins a premiership at the cows then maybe it's up for debate.. Winning a premiership is the hardest acomplishment our game has to offer. Winning origins with inglis, smith, slater and Lockyer is one thing, but to lead your club to a premiership is at a whole new level.

I feel like Thurston is an extremely good opportunist and can certainly turn a game and win it off his own bat.

Meh, Brad Fittler was kept out of 5/8 on a number of occasions even though he was the best 5/8.

It's about having the best players play, Kimmorley was in fine form at the time and can only play halfback. Johns' versatility meant he was selected at hooker, and was the best hooker in the world when he played there.

Oh and didnt JT change from Halfback to 5/8 in order to keep Cooper Cronk at number 7 for QLD and Aus?

Coincidentally they have played a match together, Johns last test was Thurston's first, Thurston came of the bench and when he came on the commentators mentioned that it was a passing of the torch moment from one great halfback to another destined for greatness. Pretty prophetic words at the time

Im a blue living in townsville so the hate runs strong, but johns was the best player i have seen. If there was no johns, thurston is it.
