Also after the star / crown casino failure to adhere to money laundering standards debarcle plus Westpac CBA et al being fined eleventy squillion for failing to fix a glitch in their ATM banking systems which should have curtailed money laundering via ATMs, the cashless gaming will close the gap in clubs n pubs.

Nope. Labor is on board too. It just the Clubs NSW lobby group who are strong arming this policy. BTW, a lobby group is not a union.

If you google “whistleblower”, “clubs NSW” and “friendly jordies” you end up with this.

You seem a tad partisan here. Dom is also faffing around and giving himself 5 years to implement the policy.

I actually dont give too many shits either way .... my original post was more pointing out Dom might be doing something with good outcomes despite some obvious backlash .... you know how we want politicians with some conviction, not just chasing the popularity contest ..... but Labor are still caught in the "dont get too many offside" game

I tend to think, if you wanna piss your money into pokies, it's your choice .... its a shame people dont know when to stop though, and its a shame past government policies led to the ridiculous amount of pokies and pretty much encouraged it. But then people who are gonna do their dough will just use whatever smaller number of machines there are.

This is more about money laundering than it is problem gambling. They could just remove ATMs and make the entire business (pub/club) go cashless. Cashless pokies means that punters set their own limits weekly and that it is no longer anonymous.

Don't be swayed by the hand wringers, as much as pokies are on the nose by exploiting the addicted, it's more about slowing down the dodgy underworld.

On a different note, for those that are eligible members of the PLC, online voting is now available for the upcoming election of 3 directors, as well as 4 resolutions.

Personally, I think the three incumbents that are standing for re-election deserve another term.

Not only have they been in the seat while the PLC has continued to make a profit throughout Covid, they are also looking at other income streams such as the amalgamation with Dural CC and any votes for them mean less votes for Spagnolo's team.

*Disclaimer: I personally know all current PLC directors, including the three standing at this election.
