TBH I wouldn't have even charged him. He lifted one boot.

Kennedy was the one who sort of created the dangerous position but even then it was only cos Smith was jumping like a lunatic for some reason and Kennedy was around the torso trying to get him to ground.
Not ‘for some reason’. It was a deliberate ploy by smith to get exactly what the ref gave him. The appearance of a dangerous position and a player in the bin.

Nevermind that he can also rub players out for future games. Selfish germ of a player

Brandon Smith charge will be interesting and create something of a precedent. Only thing I can recall in recent history on similar level of slur was Burgees calling the judiciary a ‘kangaroo court’. Smith was a heat of the moment thing whereas Sam’s was a very calculated move to influence decisions but Sam’s was easy to write off as misunderstanding

Very lucky it’s only 3.

had to keep it under control. Now they can justify giving one week or fine to a Latrell/Cody type if they do similar. If they gave 5 weeks any future offence despite the player or team would have to be 2 weeks minimum

A lot okf that is because the media would then crucify the Referee for mking it into a non-contest as it would be 13 v 12 on field. It is because of that constant criticism over the decades by the media that many referees at NRL level are gun shy to send players off.
To me this is the perfect situation where the player could be disqualified from the game but the team still gets to play with 13 to preserve the contest.

Imagine getting fined for being a human punching bag.

To be fair though, Burton does have a very punchable looking head.

This is origin so normal rules don’t count. Game 2 was reffed like an NRL game and the journos and critics cried blue murder, hence Game 3 went back to the 90s.

Tino lucky there, his swinging arm was very bad, wasn’t even an attempted tackle, should’ve been sent off.
