The NRL are children compared with to other sporting organizations in Australia. (AFL, ARU, A-League etc).

The refereeing in the NRL is horrendous and an insult to common sense and the game of rugby league. And yet, the NRL are IN-DENIAL when you have TONY ARCHER coming out and defending all the blatantly and obviously wrong decisions the referee's make. He defended Thursday nights no-try and worst of all, he defended the Tony Williams try.

The Rugby league judiciary is an absolute joke, it's just laughable. Tripping a player will get you 0 weeks, yet an accidental hit on the head and touching an official when he is in your way will have you miss a week. Not to mention the double standard for Smith and Thurston, who have touched been seen touching officials and received no suspensions because they're Queenslanders.

Not to mention the venues, expansion, finances, grass-roots and country footy, administration, off-field behavior of players etc.
The only thing I could add would be a truckload of expletives.

Let's hope the club challenges the charges. There is certainly enough precedent set this year to get them off.

Lets get real, Kasiano was a nothing incident. Reynolds should have got more, but I did say he would get off. As for Thompson, if it had happened to our team I would have been spewing. He clearly hit the guy in the head who then had to go off and they got no penalty.

They got no penalty for the Jackson tackle because the bunker can only intervene if they think its a reportable offence. So that's another bunker f**k up. Who's right?

The charge against Friz is farce of the highest order, no matter what club the "offender" plays for.

Sunday Footy show discussed this. Fittler and Johns both agreed and stated how does reynolds being a repeat trip offender get off and Friz gets given a week. They said they couldn't fathom it..lunacy.

The MRC have just shown how shit they are.

Funny thing over the years they have had some of the biggest grubs to ever play the game citing players.

Maybe they should look at the NFL in America where the coach can challenge a decision which is then referred to their version of the bunker and if that challenge is upheld then the call is reversed if the challenge is declined then the team loses one of it's time outs.

But if it was applied here what be the 'penalty' if the challenge is dismissed, losing one interchange?

Any comments from the panel

If Frizell doesn't fight and get off completely I won't watch another game of rugby league til Archer and his boys are gone. Dead set. The precedence has been set and it's ridiculous the charge even exists.

For our next game we will be down two starting forwards. I guess they will promote
Lui and McCarthy. We will get flogged. It is a shame that Creagh and Masoe have been unavailable along with Farrell. An extra three
quality players to our roster would have been useful but was never organised. Along with
injuries to Dugan, Glymin, Marshall and Thompson our already shallow roster has been severely decimated.

Obvious really.

Broncos playing poor footy ATM.
Broncos are 1 of the NRL's "must have in finals" teams
Broncos have some difficult games ahead
Broncos could drop out of the 8 by rounds 24/25 given results

This would be a promotion nightmare for the NRL.

Broncos play Dragons away from home on a Thursday night.
NRL suspends Thompson and Friz for Thursdays game, two of our best/hardest players.

Broncos now have easier game and a win secures their finals position.

Simple really.

Not all contact with a referee is bringing the game into disrepute.

This is such a ridiculous charge. Fittler, Lockyer, Parker and Thaiday are all right in their criticism. Thaiday today copped his contact (tugging the sleeve of the ref) was uncalled for, but Friz was just trying to get back into the defensive line. He didn't drop the referee on his a$$...in fact the contact made was an attempt to not drop him on his a$$.

I get the feeling it won't be contested. Friz may be carrying a niggle or two and needs a week off (but not the carry over points). Hope I'm wrong.

Yes.

And even if he is carrying and injury, out of precedence and pure principle it must be contested. Not doing so would send a very weak message to the MRC.

If they don't fight the charge then the Dragons should just admit they are to afarid to challenge anything anymore.

The board won't even defend itself against all the bagging its getting and use retired players to do it for them.

The club captain hasn't said a word and you have to ask why maybe deep down even Ben realises now the Dragons are a lost cause.

They use Cooper as a fall guy to defend the coach knowing he is leaving the club and will get hammered by the fans and I'd say his heart isn't with the club anymore.

They couldn't even get the Lafai/Havili decision right and have been again hammered by the players association.

Hell they can't even respond to the fans in a decent time frame if at all.

The club has lost its pride.
