Played a lot of school boy footy on Bexley Oval.Tripping was always looked at as the biggest dog act and repeat offenders were generally dealt with behind the bexley oval grandstand .
Tripping is coming more common in today's game, very sad
Lovely ground with a white picket fence and grandstand on the southern side of the ground.
I remember playing a game there against Kingsgrove High School and the opposite prop had a constant loose arm and was raking at the ball in the scrum.
We complained to Mr. Mercer who was a well known referee and teacher from the local area and asked for a penalty.
His reply was "stand on it and he won't do it again" now that was refereeing at its best.
