At the end of the day, Langer's results were bog average.

His two highlights were retaining the Ashes in England (a series they should have won, not drawn) and a T20 WC. And how much credit can he take for the T20 WC? He always seemed to be leaving his assistant coaches in charge of the T20 team, and never really picking the best players until the tournament itself.

I get the feeling that he used the last 4 months or so taking a bit of a reduced, backseat role to try and prove to players and CA alike that he was open to their criticism and feedback and tried to show he could change, and probably expected this to be good enough to get the extension he wanted. I think if he was given the 4 year extension he wanted, he would've resorted to his old methods sooner than later and within 2 years, he'd have been sacked. And cA cannot afford multi million dollar payouts, simple as that.

However, for CA to offer him what was effectively a 4 month extension, instead of a 4 year extension, it's no wonder he resigned. It's a joke offer and CA knew he would resign and that's why they did it...

Apparently this is all Pat’s fault.

Less time being woke with climate change and BLM and more time being behind JL.

So says the Holden SS ute profiles on FB.

Is Andrew McDonald a step up?

was Langer that bad? Your results more or less as expected?

I want Ponting, old school like JL but without all the flowery bullshit. But it ain't gonna happen.

Geez...what would they done to him if his team LOST everything?
...and why does he have a pommy accent?

Brother in law and I are fighting about it at the moment.

Of course the acb won’t improve things anyway.

The Aussie cricket players want the smooth and easy loafing life of our marquee NRL players.

I understand.

It would also be good (IMO) to have a coach who wasn't a part of that team...

None of them seem to get the modern game or player

It’s always been on schooners and the yob for the old boys.

He can coach England, first training event at the frog and toad, 12 hours of solid drinking, Dinner Ales.

It would be good to get the perspective of someone that was not once a team mate of JL.

It's almost as if the media are now pissed off that he resigned after pushing quite hard up until a week ago to have him removed.

Problem is that generation now control the cricket media landscape in Australia.

Out of all ex cricketers that had a whinge Mitchell Johnson is the main one that has lost my respect and lowered his colours more then anyone.

His comments about cummins in his newspaper article was disgraceful. Fancy calling an ex team mate and the current Australian captain gutless.

When mitch has admitted how precious and sensitive he was to comments made about him by the barmy army and has suffered mental health problems.

Anything mitch says moving about mental health is a load bullocks.

Throw in his role in homework gate and leading the brigade to remove Mickey Arthur rightly or wrongly its hypocritical for Johnson to whinge now about a coach getting shafted by the players.

What are the prerequisite credentials to coach cricket in Australia?

Do you have to have any assessed qualifications or just have thrown the bat around at some point and what level you formally played at determines your ceiling as a coach?
