Justin Poore fails to train with Dragons
September 10, 2009 - 12:14PM
St George Illawarra prop Justin Poore has failed to train with the NRL side after suffering a calf injury.
The NSW State of Origin representative sat out an intense session at WIN Stadium with his left calf heavily iced.
Dragons captain Ben Hornby said he believed the injury to be minor as the side prepares for Sunday's qualifying final against Parramatta at WIN Jubilee Oval.
"He didn't train today but we're hopeful he's going to be able to play," Hornby told reporters.
The minor premiers are otherwise injury free for their second match in two weeks against the Eels, who they thrashed 37-0 at the same venue last Friday night.
Hornby himself has recovered from a stomach bug he picked up earlier in the week and took part in the majority of Thursday's training session.
"I feel a fair bit better, obviously I'm not completing full training sessions at the moment but I'm definitely feeling a lot better," he said.
Hornby will play his 200th first grade game for the Dragons on Sunday.
