Hunt will pursue his blossoming career overseas next season, having turned his back on a $425,000 deal from the Broncos.

Hasn't been that good lately anyway. A few glimpses here and there but nothing consistantly good, no great loss.

Second only to Benji Marshall (and only one behind at that) in try assists this season. Ahead of Orford, Thurston and Soward to name a few. The nearest Fullback (Slater) has less than half his try assists.

He's been in white hot form in attack this year and will leave a huge hole in the Brisbane backline despite what inbred tossers like Misery will tell you but, c'est la vie.

With the current exchange rate and closed tax loophole he isn't going to earn much more than $425k in the SL. Munster? WTF? Suddenly sounding like he hasn't got the $million deal from France we thought he might have!

I don't blame him for going, it's not like he's going to be earning good coin and getting promotions for the rest of his life. 3 times the salary to live in Europe and work an easier job would like a sound career move to me.

I just wish these blokes would stop bullsh*tting their fans and say the truth.

"Look, I'm getting 3 times as much cash to play an easier game in Europe! I've got ten years tops before I'm collecting garbage; if I'm lucky. Why the hell do you reckon I'm going"

I do not begrudge him for going for the money or travel or whatever, if he does well, good on him. Personally I think he will struggle, he will not cope with the closer defensive line and the physical side of the game. Schoolboy RU is nothing like pro RU.

I will be eternally happy when he has gone as I can't stand the hype over this guy.
He can't pass consisently well. He can't kick. He can't tackle. He can't defend and his positional play is ordinary compared to the real great fullbacks, past and present.
He certainly isn't the worst player I have seen, far from it. But to play for Australia was nothing more than a fortunate thing due to several injuries.

Someone mentioned try assists, well yes he throws the last pass often in a sweeping movement created by Lockyer, Wallace and a few forwards running decoys.
May as well give the hooker the try assist for throwing the pass to the half or 5/8.

I am sure this will upset the sheep, but as an average NRL player that commentators regularly mess their shorts over, I can't wait until he is gone

Probably half of his try assists this season have come from kicks behind the line. Who do you want to give those to? The ball?

Look through the posts here. The sheep are the ones who think he's over rated.

Disapointing for the game but I don't balme anyone for moving to Sth of France for $00,000's more in salary. Can anyone here honestly say they would do different?

nah id be happy to move to the south of france to play for the catalans. i wouldnt play rugby union for a billion dollars though.

I was devo'd when i read this in the paper the other day. It was always coming though and certainly cant blame him it's a great decision and all the morons who hang sh*t on him would do the exact same thing. Of course the money is the main factor but for someone his age it would be pretty exciting going overseas and experiencing new culture.

It is a big loss for us but he will be back with the broncos in a few years, he loves the club and QLD too much not to come back.

He's an outstanding player I think. One of if not the safest under the high ball. Really good in every area and easily the most well rounded and skilled fullback in the comp. And so young. He could come back in three years right as he peaks.

He's achieved everything there is to do in Rugby League so I can understand if he's getting burnt out.

he did. but he still blatantly breached his contract (which was less than a year old, mind you) and then did the ultimate dog act by leaving without telling his club or teammates a few days before a big game.

DISGRACEFUL SPORTSMAN, DISGRACEFUL HUMAN BEING

WTF??

you actually begrudge an off-contract player getting a better contract in another sport? he hasnt broken any contracts like SBW... what planet are you from mate??

RL is a profession just like any other... people change professions because there underpaid all the time. why is it RL players cant do that??

and you want to talk about countries... SBW did what he did after living 5 or 6 years living in Australia... perhaps it was an Australian mercenary culture that he succumbed to.
