Kearney's like a delusional hypnotist... but is anyone other than the board and a few true believers taking any notice?

Its a quote! read it closely!

“I see the development of Matty Ryan and Mitchell Allgood and Kenny Sio and guys like that. Matthew Keating, Timmy Mannah … for me, we have an opportunity to really build this footy club. That’s what’s keeping me focused.
It can't be a direct quote, there's no mention of Lasalo

I tend to think he will come good.

He does some good things and looks to be working on a long term solution but its a matter of whether the fans and the FC have the patience to give him a free reign.

Pretty much it in a nutshell. The current board are prone to make decisions based on hysterical public opinion rather than seeing things though. I'm interested in who he replaces the current crop with and what effect that has rather than swapping to a new coach and waiting for them to go through their clean out and rebuild.

I'm not too far away from you guys. However he needs to bring the team up to where they were last year, to convince me that he has both the coaching skills and the management skills to rebuild a club. In saying that I'm assuming that the structure, junior development and innovative use of NSW Cup, NYC and Bundy teams are all his ideas and not all Nolan's.

The team under his tutelage needs to improve, sooner rather than later, and I hope the break from playing and the media may have some effect.

A lot of people were criticising him last year but I was willing to give him time because there were promising signs.

This season has simply been a chasm of despair.

Pretty much where I'm coming from as well.

We need a total cleanout. Kearney will fix it.

I would pay to see McCracken knock Kearney out. The merkin!

f**k off Kearney you dog.

Yep Kearney sure is shit.

He's out of his depth. Poor bugger.

Just give the bloke time. Things are starting to look good.

And that's just the last 4 pages.

i'd just like to see tangible evidence of the plan working.

it's all well and good to have a plan but when you evaluate and look for certain milestones that plan will have evidence of leading to future success. if the plan is a dud there is no point keeping it.

i would very much hope that similar to most other years where we started slow, we show that the side is on the up by winning a majority share of our last 12 games (like in 1997, 2000, 2006, 2007, 2009).

i don't think a decision on sk should be made before the end of season.

What happens if we come last this year. Do we sack him ?

to me it depends how many games we win.

if we finish the year at the same w/l % we are currently on (would then be three wins) i'd punt him, as it wouldn't really be an indication of a future plan working. if we win 9 games between now and then i'd ease back and say what can you do in 2013 (with a view to winning a decent amount of games in the first 8-12 weeks). if we happen to finish with say a .500 record for the back half of the season i'd also give sk the start of next year to continue what would appear to be improvement, but with a plan b in waiting in case nothing happens.

at the start of the year i thought we were a good shot at top 6 with who we recruited but that looks a pipe dream away now. like sk, my supporter season kpis have changed. maybe after the last year of crap i have been institutionalised.

Yes, any good business would:-

1. Have him archive his grand plans with regards to the complete junior restructure (aka the academy), and then
2. Knife him in the back as he walks out the door.

These are indeed wise and considered comments from all. Men who have seen the good times and bad at our club.

However. If you are wrong, and SK can't pull it together, lets consider what we will have happened and where we would be as a club.

If you are wrong, and SK can't turn this around, we would have had 3 years of poor performances from a side that in my opinion is quite capable of being a top 8 side. Yes they make mistakes, but last year if they held on for the last 15 minutes they could have made the 8 even the 4. This year we should be competing for the 8, instead of competing for the spoon. In year 3 of this project we should be seeing the fruits. If we don't and the Winter solstice see us in a poor way again we will need to make some pretty drastic changes.

But as long as we are satisfied we gave it the good old colleague try, I am sure everything will work out in the end.
However, I see it like this.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me Twice, shame on me.

The thing is, last season was probably a 'reasonable' year in terms of his coaching - just couldn't "close" any games whatsoever. From rounds 11+ the footy was competitive almost every game.

Even if we do see a massive improvement the rest of this year, one must surely wonder if it's worth forfeiting the first 10 rounds again next season.

I think he's already done the 'fool me twice' thing....
For me the only thing that can save him is if we make the 8.

Mind you, I would've punted him Saturday morning after the Bulldogs game.

this is what im worried about what if the board write this year off as a loss and give kearney a fresh start next year and we end up back at the bottom of the ladder we've gained nothing and written off next year to "rebuilding" as well
