I'd glanced through the guide before you posted Suity, so it was still in my memory when you mentioned watching Rick Klein.

The fact nothing is on live is why I'm sat here sharing my knowledge with the other merkins.

I wasn't being a smart arse :?. As the hashtag said I don't have foxtel, so of course don't bother looking for what's on those channels.

Maybe coaches realise the team's performance isn't all down to them? How do you rate Bennett's performance so far this year? Has he forgotten how to coach?

At least they (a) have twice as many wins as us

and (b) haven't regressed badly in the second year of his coaching DESPITE some big name signings in key areas.

For me, if we were 4 wins and 9 losses and playing a competitive brand of football, then I would still give SK some support.
But for the team to have been craptastic from week 1 is unacceptable. Everything that was built up last season just fell to bits DESPITE some good signings in key areas.

There's a difference between being "the last placed team on the ladder, but yet trying hard and possibly being unlucky on occasions" and "the useless team that fronts up for 20 minutes each game at best"

Last year we were the first, this year we are the second.
I thought coaches BUILT towards things, not flush them down the toilet.

Mate I'm pretty sure we'll get the spoon.

Our go-forward was our best feature last year and the whole squad is built around that. This year it's a f**king disgrace.

We will be very lucky to avoid the spoon, just like we were last year.

Don't lie Pou!

Our go-forward has been fine this season. We win the meterage contest almost every game.
Souths only made 12m more than us despite having an extra 6 sets of 6.

Could you imagine those stats if we actually had our front rowers on the field.

We were only weak in the middle because super-coach benched all four of his recognised props at once . That and the amazing one-off hit ups all night game plan...

Kearney's been f**king up the interchange rotations all year, and it's no wonder players don't know their role in the structure when their roles are chopped and changed so often.

Give us the minute marks where we had no props on the field?

The problem with other people actually trying to have an intelligent discussion about the shortfalls of Kearney is that people like you have had it in for him since day 1 and so make up stuff just to suit your point.

Tautai plays prop forward. And every team employs a 'one out hit it up' strategy early in the tackle count. We're not failing to make meterage through the middle. We simply pose no threat on the edges because there doesn't seem to be an attacking structure in place (or nobody wants to play to it).
I'd be shocked if Roberts isn't dropped for Kelly this week. We need a 'director' out there to take charge of pointing the team around the park. Clearly our waterboys can't get the job done, so we need an on-field general who can tell us how to keep our shape.

Ok, after watching the game with someone who coaches junior league, we came to the conclusion there are major issues

There are no line runners when we have possession in the opposition 20 and therefore no otionsa and we get picked off, the simple in side ball is killing the plays. Unless Hayne (see Cronulla), or even Roberts ( vs Manly ) has a blinder we have no options at all

That is almost it in a nutshell, if the coaches cant get those basics into a team after a seaon and a half then they have to be on shaky ground.

There are plenty of other issues, but there seems to be no sense that they are at one with the coaching staff. I really thought SK woujld succeed, and am disappointed that it has not worked, but as a season ticket holder since 1982, there is every chance I wont renew for 2013 unless there is change.

I dont even watch much NRL these days as I am too ticked off at my beloved team sinking this low.

Time for a change and be quick about it

Which ones were not on the field?

I clearly recall three being off, and they were poore mannah and fui iirc.

Someone mention all four were off at one time, but I don't know at what stage.

Mannah, fui and poore played around 40 min each.

Allgood 19 and tt 15.

Surely they are capable of a bit more game time.

Suity, if I had my choice I would give it to a combo of Graham Murray and Jason Taylor.

I hate to say this but even Sticky would be preferable to this lot

Thanks for your post Delboy. SK supporters will counter your comments above by saying that he does not have the squad AND too many players who were OK last year, are now old and not putting in.

What do you say to that ?

Hindmarsh goes into the prop rotation too these days.

He has been playing spot minutes or LOTS of minutes at that position since about round 4.

By my count he had 5-6 minutes at prop with Tautai alongside him and Paulo/Smith/Ryan being the backrowers.
Then I think Ryan came off and Poore went back on and Hindy went back into the backrow rotation.

It's easy for a casual fan to say "we had no props" but when there are 6 of them in the lineup it's almost impossible to actually accomplish even if you try....

I'll tell you what Delboy would say:

The players got the job done last year, there has been no progress this year.

SK was one of my favourite non-Parra players. Loved his toughness and ability to just 'win' when he played footy.
I thought our team rounds 11-26 mostly resembled his attitude last season. They played decent footy without a lot of luck and lacked class in the halves and centers.

I have theories as to why we didn't start out that way this year, but in the end the proof is on the paddock. We've regressed big time. The classy players we brought in have been underutilised, nobody seems to trust anybody else, and results reflect that.

I'd wager SK is waaaay down on confidence himself, and doesn't even trust his own system, and so is trying stupid tricks - none of which work of course.

Look, if it's going to happen, any of those three would do me, and I don't particularly like Ricky Stuart.
I'd go with option A. Lock it in Eddie.

I'd give Sticky a ONE YEAR deal. For the sole purpose of putting some backbone into the squad.

beyond that we'd just be 'haganing' ourselves again.

Perhaps 1 year for Sticky with JT as either assistant coach or head coach of Wenty. Then give JT the job the following year.
