I'm willing to go for Sticky. I think that he has matured himself as a coach and the players seem to respect him.

I don't think that JT would get the same respect.

I'd give Sticky a ONE YEAR deal. For the sole purpose of putting some backbone into the squad.

beyond that we'd just be 'haganing' ourselves again.

Perhaps 1 year for Sticky with JT as either assistant coach or head coach of Wenty. Then give JT the job the following year.

I like that.

There is no way Stuart will take just one year. However 2 years would be the maximum I would sign any future coach

What if he kept the Origin gig ? JT took over for those few weeks he was away ?
Stuart having the origin gig is actually advantageous to us as it would further attract players to us and help retain stars like Hayne.

Thanks for your post Delboy. SK supporters will counter your comments above by saying that he does not have the squad AND too many players who were OK last year, are now old and not putting in.

What do you say to that ?

Looking the comments from various posters over that last few days that most Kearney supporters ( me included) have started to change their opinions of Kearney

Is this an admission that he hasn't got any idea???

Go to the eels website http://www.parraeels.com.au/ - and check out the poll........

If you were Eels coach, how would you unleash Fuifui Moimoi on opposition teams?
Start him at prop to get the team going forward early
Bring him on around the 20min mark to cause havoc on the edges
Play him directly opposite the opponent's halfback
Play him tight, up the middle, instead of on the edges

I agree. I have noticed a change in tune of 3 or 4 staunch SK supporters.

I would sack Kearney and replace him with any coach who promises to drop Poore to Bundy Cup

I do have doubts about Stuart but is he really that bad? He got the roosters to 3 gfin a row with one win before he got into some problems . Read a article recent cant remember who by but basically Stuart got himself into trouble in his fourth or so year with the roosters as he made the wrong decision with his older players by keeping them a year to long instead of replacing them with younger players - but considering he was a rookie coach back then he was always going to make some mistakes.

With the sharks he did get them to equal first and one game before the gf before it all went down hill. But half of his problems at the sharks was lack of resources which he would not have
at the eels - even read stories players were not being paid on time and he was the one working out these type of matters not something a coach should not do

I like Kearney and like everyone else, I am willing him on to succeed. It's not happening.

But we have serious problems - issues that go deeper than we think...

The club is in a mess.

He was handed that team, none of the recruitment etc was his doing

By that logic - we will win in 2013 - if Sticky takes over.....:D

#StickyInheritsKearneysSide

not saying I'm for or against a Coaching change - My only thing would be that its imperative that we retain Nolan @ the Club - his track record for recruitment speaks for itself.

Yeah but neither Gould or Muray could get the side to win a gf. Gee Gould couldn't even get the side to the gf and he signed any one he wanted - but Stuart did it three years in a row. Every nrl coach inherits a side it is what they do with the side that counts, and he got some pretty impressive results with roosters
