yes - just had a look - fui went off at 34th minute, replaced by paulo - none of the regular props were there until mannah came on 49th minute for tautai
Thanks Strider.
lol so Bartman was right.
Not surprising some are focussing on pedantics instead of discussing the point being made.

Kearney did not have any of our four first choice/recognised props on the field for a period of time, including Souths' vital try after half time. The only time I noticed this was after the break, and up to when a replacement came on (around the 50th min). Strides has checked and apparently it was the case from the 34th minute - so even longer than I had thought and posted about!

Kearney's use of the bench/rotations/player positioning has been generally atrocious. Good to see OMC now talking about the issue instead of the person posting about it... pity Suity hasn't felt like doing the same :sarcasm:

This weeks game against the Panfers is pretty much the battle for the spoon.

If the Panfers beat us and beat us convincingly, Kearney may very well get a DCM

Football aside... This is a football club. Whatever decisions they've made has resulted in us being far and away the worst performing football club in the entire comp by a huge margin.

Thats like ordering a bowl of soup in a restaurant and finding a rubber band and a razor blade in it and going home satisfied saying "well apart from that razor blade which cut my tongue in half, that was a great meal"

Great analogy ........... but where does the rubber band come into it? :)

Sorry Bart,

but no where in Poupou's post does he even mention you can't criticise Kearney.
All I see him saying is that he thinks Kearney would probably know more about bench rotation than you, which is a fair comment I reckon.
If you are after a rise, I can't be f**ked.
I'm going to watch Rick Stein instead. Far more entertaining.

Suity

Do you think Kearney`s bench rotations have been good this year?

No doubt this is the case. WHOever the next coach is has to get HAyne onside. For me he is the true leader of this team & not hindy or mannah. YOu get hayne to buy in to your system then the rest is smooth sailing.

Michael jordan had the same problem in his early days. Phil jackson took over & explained to him he has to play to a system & he will deliver him what he cherrishes the most a nba championship. HE got him onside & the rest again is history.

Hayne is the key & always has been.I love hidy but at the end of the day he is a straight shooter. Hayne needs someone that can piss in his pocket while pulling him in line.

........ enter Jason Taylor?

I like smith & have a lot of respect for what he has done in structuring clubs from juniors up. Roosters in the next couple of years are going to be awesome. Newcastle he was run out of town but in the end. They were winning wooden spoons when johns was injured & he turned that around.
He always leaves clubs in a better position than when he got there which is the sign of a great coach.

If we could have a coaching director in this type of role that would be great. I would want someone who does not want the top job. Eg john lang he thru taylor under the bus the whole management did. Taylor would have learnt from his mistakes there.

I don`t know that he was run out of town. I think he ran out on Newcastle - for a better job at the Roosters. (Which, if memory serves me correctly, was supposed to be his best chance of winning a premiershp before he retires from NRL coaching.) So he might actually look for a director`s type role as his next assignment. I don`t think he`d be able to resist sticking his nose in and interfering with the coach, though. I wouldn`t want him at Parra. I would love Taylor as coach, however.

That's a fair comparison.

...if Ricky is our coach then Hayne will be wearing 6 in his 'system'.

I wonder how that will go down?

I don`t think Stuart really sees Hayne as a six. I think that was just his excuse to use both Dugan and Stewart ahead of Hayne at fullback. Shame, really. Hayne should be the blues fullback.

The problem with this is the simplicity of the assumption!

Tautai is a PROP. He hasn't played backrow yet for us. He comes on and plays limited minutes as a prop.

You might question why on earth we have a 5th 'specialty prop' in the lineup? Good question, however that doesn't make him not a prop.

And Hindy has been in the front row rotation "on and off" since round 4. So from the 34th to 49th minutes Hindy and Tautai were our prop forwards. Example: Gallen in OriginII. Just because he started at lock doesn't mean he didn't play minutes at prop.

We might well question the sanity of having 6 props in the 17 man squad ESPECIALLY when prop has been our strongest position all season. And rightly so - but we cannot say we didn't have props on the field. We had 6 in the squad so it was IMPOSSIBLE not to have 2 on the park.

Good coaching, eh?

hence why stuart would be a terrible terrible signing

I wouldn`t necessarily disagree with that. My definite preference would be Jason Taylor. I am concerend about Ricky Stuart`s approach to Jarryd Hayne. I`m also concerned about a forty year old man still being called 'Ricky'.
