I will be the first to post in their "Deathriders, I told you so" thread. Looking forward to it.

It would be years before such a thread would be valid.

That's how long it takes for us, the fans, to see the effects of coaching.

Kearney isn't responsible for tonight's win any more than he is to blame for the losses. The effects of coaching take years to be fully realised, though quick fixes through recruiting certainly make a difference. Thank f**k we finally have a bloke who can kick field goals under pressure.

When we got back to 18-all I was fairly confident Chris Sandow would win it for us.

Hindy certainly turned back the clock, and once again, it had little to do with the coach.

It had to do with the dread of the wooden spoon, just like the victory over the sharks a few weeks ago.
How long will the dread of the wooden spoon inspire our players to victory for the rest of this season?
Obviously the coach is hardly any source of inspiration and motivation.

Not sure about this. Kearneys structured coaching does not encourage offloads, Hayne said as much. Tonight we won with 18 offloads to 4. I think we took to playing hot potato footy and it worked for us.
Maybe the coach should encourage more of it?

The coach has no idea. He is so far out of his depth that it's tragic.

Every coach allows offloads. When Kearney played he was famous for it.

The reason we offloaded so much tonight is because Penrith let us. Why do you think Penrith only made four offloads tonight? Is it Cleary's fault? He took the Warriors to the grand final last year on the back of offloads.

At Penrith he just doesn't have the players for it, just like Kearney at Parra.

His coaching has certainly turned me to the drink.

It wasn't a farewell drink by any chance?

Rumour mill grinds the wrong axe over Stuart returning to clubland with Eels

Eels powerbrokers are giving Kearney every chance to turn things around and Stuart isn't on their radar. Chairman Roy Spagnolo has never met with Stuart about joining the club and has no intention of doing so. The only reason why Spagnolo, chief executive Bob Bentley and the board haven't publicly backed Kearney is the fear that, by doing so, it would be deemed as the ''kiss of death'' by the media. Kearney and Spagnolo have a good relationship and they are working closely to lift the Eels out of the cellar.

Why is this journo going out of his way to quash rumours? Isn't it their job to spread them?

Maybe this article is a Clayton's kiss of death?

As much as I hate how we are going at the moment and as much as anyone I'd like a new coach to just come in and turn it around I also hope sk turns us around. I really do. He's had a shit time of it and gets bagged (rightfully so) but he seems like a pretty decent bloke and doesn't shirk any challenge. Any other coach would have quit. I commend him on staying and sticking through it. Says alot about his character.

I agree that I would like him to turn it around. But we are in this position because of his mis-managment of the the team IMO.

Pretty confident that is every coach in the competition. I dont care how nice or how much of a asshole the coach is all i care is about getting him to perform at top level. The rest is irrelevant.

Warren ryan was a pig of a man by all reports but he is considered one of the best to ever coach the game
