Kiwi squad for the WC defence!

I'd have Tim Simona in my final squad. He can play wing, centre or fullback. Give him a game or two against some minnows to see how he goes, could be a real superstar of the future.

Simona is better than all 3 of them.

I don't think he is as of right now and I don't think he makes it but it'll be a worry that people will get in his ear to do a Papali or Tamou. Could be worth as someone said having him in the squad as a way of locking him in.

But he wouldn't be "locked in" anyway would he?

Please correct me if im wrong but I was of the understanding that you can switch nations once in a world cup cycle... So if he were to play for NZ at the this world cup he would be free to switch back over to NSW/AUS once the new cycle begins... Which would be once this cup is over...

Like i said... Correct me if I'm wrong

That's how I have understood the rules to be.

I think you're right but in my mind I just couldn't see it happening. Of course I wouldn't rule it out with the way things have gone recently but I could only imagine the outroar that would occur. I'm pleasantly surprised he has made himself available for the Kiwis in the first place. I'm hoping he can make and stick to a decision unlike Papali.

This is what I'm expecting to be named + 2 more to bring the squad to 24

24 Man World Cup Squad

RTS
Hoffman
Vatuvei
Nightingale
Inu
Whare
Goodwin

Foran
Johnson
Leuluai

Luke

Matulino
Bromwich
JWH
Kasiano
McKendry

Mannering
Pritchard
SBW
Smith
Glenn
Eastwood

Plus two more. Probably to come from Perrett, Elijah Taylor and Proctor who all seem to be favourites of Kearney. Will be interesting to see how much influence Cleary has in the final makeup though.

Does Simona's selection mean he's actually made himself available? I thought our usual style was to just go around naming people willy-nilly without asking.

no it does'nt lol

Actually I'd say the fact he posted a picture of his name in the squad, saying he was stoked to make the squad and that there were big things to come means quite a bit. If he just got picked in the squad with no input and that he didn't want to play for the Kiwis then I doubt he would be referencing in it public celebrating the fact he had made it. Of course he could change his mind next season if he doesn't make it.

Simona better then Whare ?

Get your head out of your ass you f**king genius.

He has an overt inflated opinion of Simona because he is a promising young player part of a garbage side.

Wow, did I make you angry by rating one player higher than another? Sorry tough guy, next time ill ask for your permission before picking a player over your boyfriend.

Don't bank on SBW playing people. Highly unlikely. If he was intending to do so, he would have said so. He ain't. Why would he not come out and say, yes, I'm playing and available, unless he intends not to?

You can forget about Williams, he has other things on his mind and that ain't the World Cup.

It also depends on when he arrived in Australia as a kid, he needs to have come here before 13 to be eligible for NSW, does anyone know when Tim moved here?

As far as I was aware he was either born in AUS or moved there very young.
