Looking good, team. What's the squad limit? We should take that into account in case we get flooded, (dreams are free!), and need to send players to other teams struggling for depth.

up to 9 is the limit I believe.

5 for the game and a few spares just in case one gets a flat tyre.

Alright, team, a copy/paste from the World Cup site:

***************

F7s WORLD CUP

Teams: Australia, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Malta
2 pools.
Each team in each pool play each other once.
F7sWC Final contested by the two pool winners.*
POOL A:
Team 1 - Australia
- Captain: The Piper (Panthers)
Team 2 - England - Captain: Mr. Fahrenheit (Cougars)
Team 3 - Malta - Captain: Big Mick (Panthers)
POOL B:
Team 4 - New Zealand
- Captain: Jesbass (Warriors)
Team 5 - Ireland - Captain: Black Kitty (Bluebags)
Team 6 - Papua New Guinea - Captain: Willow (Bluebags)
Round 1: Date 12th October - 19th October
Australia v England
New Zealand v Ireland
Round 2: Date 19th October - 26th October
Malta v Australia
Papua New Guinea v New Zealand
Round 3: Date 26th October - 2nd November
England v Malta
Ireland v Papua New Guinea
F7s WC Final: Date 2nd November - 9th November
Pool 1 winner v Pool 2 winner

***************

Points of note:

  • Matches involve 3 starters and 2 subs - not the usual 5 starters and 2 or 3 subs.
  • Matches are 7 days long - not the usual 10 days.
  • Only the pool winners progress, so we need to (ideally) win both of our matches against Black Kitty's Ireland in round 1, and Willow's Papua New Guinea in round 2.
  • Regardless of everything else, we have a bye in round 3. If we win one match and lose the other, our points differential and article count may help us in the case of the Ireland -V- Papua New Guinea going in our favour.
  • If you want to be selected, I only accept bribes in the form of bowls full of brown M&Ms... :sarcasm:
  • I'll PM a few potential F7s players in the next few days to see if we can fill out our squad, then have duels to the death for the top side.
  • No sex bans are anticipated in the near future.

I didn't realise he was fond of the black and white. I've asked the question of a few people, now including glockers. The first 1 (or 2) to respond will complete the squad, methinks. No point in having too many people if they won't get game time or if other teams are still struggling for numbers.

Alright team, it's gift time! (This is what happens when I'm nocturnal courtesy of jetlag, and between jobs...)

Hardly the most exciting designs, but that's not the point - wear them with pride!

It's only a jersey - you're not supposed to wear it over your crotch! :sarcasm:

Jesbass Attempting To Change Kiwis' Nationality
3 October 2008
By Harold McRomple

FORUM SEVENS KIWI CAPTAIN JESBASS has provided yet another contentious twist to the national team's long history of controversy. The
halfback, who successfully ousted former skipper LeagueNut in a bloodless coup, has urged his fellow countrymen to don the blue and white of Scotland.

"Aye, 'tis true," Jesbass admitted, "but a dinnieken what the issue is!"

The new captain, who had earlier spearheaded a failed campaign to have Scotland included in the World Cup, said he is appealing to his team mates'
sense of patriotism.

"All I'm saying is, as proud New Zealanders, we should be Scottish!"

Jesbass' proposed Kiwis jersey.

Kiwis manager The Evil Dutchman, (commonly known as The Bad Dutcher), admitted that the new move had been unexpected.

"I just don't understand what Jesbass is doing!" he yelled. "I think he's gone MAD!"

This is not the first time that the Kiwis halfback has been involved in Kiwis controversy. In 2006, he blamed LeagueNut's controversial sex ban for his poor on-field performances. 1 2 3

The future for the Kiwis looks bleak indeed.

Mick me ol' mate, I'll do just that! I've just had an 8th recruit, so I'm officially closing the squad now. If anyone else gets back to me, I'll send them your way. :thumn

Dragon_psa has joined, so I'm going to close our recruitment there. As it is, we can only guarantee everyone a match if we make the final, so no point in holding back from the other teams...

Dragon_psa, here is your jersey:
