I hope the Doogs brothers play on the same side of the field together. Hoepfully they will develope a stong combination. Drop Tighe and put Vuna in the side. Hinton at fullback is good.

I hope Sargent gets the run over Tanner/Young.

f**k me dead! How does that merkin Tighe STILL get a run? Someone give me a go, I'd be mediocre, unable to break the line and miss tackles and you'd only have to pay me in 12yo Scotch!
They could provide the scotch to you pre-match and you would still produce more then Tighe.

I'm looking forward to seeing Tighe with a winger with a brain outside him. This will be good to watch in attack rather than an inept player who can only give an option when there's an over-lap. Let McMinus sink to reggies where he belongs.

let me get this straight - you rate Tighe, but think Jimmy MC belongs in reggies.....

the reason you have been missing.... is rehab isnt it?

There is nothing to McManus' game accept horrible line running and weak decision making. Give Tighe an option and he'll be fine. Give him McManus and you get what we've seen this year.

Like you Mac I've been highly impressed with mcmanus! He is safe, runs hard and makes plenty of meters and he is rarely dominated in the tackle. I can see 10 years of quality first grade out of this player

You're an idiot. You could put the lord Jesus himself outside Fraud and he still wouldn't see a ball out to him! Tighe has zero vision to his outside man. I swear, a race horse with blinkers has more lateral vision!

Rubbish. McManus cannot move inside Tighe to save his life. It's because he has zero creativity. A short memory trip back to 2005 shows what Tighe is capable of. Give him Mcmanus' spot.

Yet McManus was perhaps the only one of the 3/4 line who could hold his head up after last weekends game. Theonly postive comment people could say about Fraud was that he put in a good kick! Well stone the crows! He deserves all 6 Dally M's on offer for the weekends round! And you're right, he was capable of something in 2005. Unfortunately, those days are past and he's got nothing except to run at the line and get tackled, EVERY play! Atleast twice he had players draw and McManus wide open and he went back infield and got tackled! We won't mention the defensive lapses that he made!

I say give Tighe Clint Newtons spot. The arse!

DMC that totally had nothing to do with BIHK, why come back now to reignite sh*t that should have died in 04? And Mcmanus >>>>> Tighe. Mcmanus can defend, has a fair bit of speed, and strength too. Tighe contributes nothing.

I was against McManus' selection before round 1.

But imo he has improved heaps since then, and doesnt look like taking a backwards step.

Better handling
Better defence, reading the attack and actual tackling.

And one thing I really like, because we havnt had it in the past, is he is quite good under the high ball.

I'm really starting to like young McManus. Future Knights centre imo.

Good team, though less Tanner, Tighe and Young would be nicer. Impressed to see Hinton back! Also keen to see how the MacDougalls play alongside each other :D I may tip us yet...

McManus is two years younger and has had 10 games of firstgrade this year.
Tighe has had 33 games of firstgrade over 3 seasons.

I would say they both came into firstgrade as green 21 year olds and have progressed to playing at about the same level.
The difference, it has taken McManus 2 1/2 months and Tighe 2 1/2 years.

I reckon they are pretty even about now - but i know who will be better this time next year.

It's interesting that Michael Young is still up there for consideration. I thought his first grade career was over until this year, then suddenly he found a spot on the bench. The issue many people here seem to have with him is that he doesn't offer a lot in attack. In terms of effort, he's tackled his bum off every time we've had him there. His performance against the Broncos was up and down -- he missed a tackle that led to a try, but then again so did most of the team. He came up with 27 tackles for the game, third most including both teams, which is a great effort. Like him or loathe him, he's a dedicated individual who does his best. It's only a matter of if he will improve because he might well earn the same tag as Sean Rudder, Reegan Tanner and Julian Bailey if he continues to get a bench spot.

Suffice to say I don't think Reegan Tanner deserves a run. He had his opportunity and hasn't done enough to warrantv a return.

As for McManus -- I like what I see. He is safe under the high ball, makes some great one-on-one tackles (often try-savers) and doesn't let anyone down in attack. I think he's a fine performer, a safe option for the wing. We could do a lot worse. He's not going anywhere in a hurry.

Why do i get a mental picture of youngy as the kid who gets named in the junior side because he gets to taining early and helps the coach set up and pack up afterwards.

Him and Riley Brown had a flat together once - i think the address was Tryhard house.

Young tackles well, but he really is a poor mans Reynoldson, perhaps with a little more sting in defence. And if there is someone you don't wish to be a poor man's version of, its most probably reyno.

Having said that Kirk is finally proving decent.
