Wouldn't surprise me if we see the same side next week, or Bailey in at 5/8th and Mullo still at 7. I'm starting to dislike Brian Smith.

I feel kinda let down... We build up to a great game where two of the most exciting teams are having a show down and we go out there to do that... Shocking defence, some bad bad team management decisions, hopefully Smith learns from this mistake and just keep Duearu on the park... Wicks and Cross we should only have one of them playing for a while until they both gain some fitness back... Jeez those, embrassing..

How much are we missing Taia? A lot I reckon.

MUllen misses out just as much when Dureau doesn't get selected cause he gets added pressure put on him and can't play his natural game.

Alot of those forwards that came back looked unfit. Which I think was a reason for all the dropped ball and penalties.

This is probably just me but sometimes it actually looks like he doesn't want to catch it?

Like what you said Roops. He sure can jump above the pack. But that matters SFA if you can't catch.

The team looked like they didnt have a clue what each other were doing. Definately wrong choice today. But I must say when they have a shocker they certainly do. everyone had their moments of mistakes. Maybe it might be what they need to get them up to scratch again. Anyhow I am sure something good will come of it. That Campese is a bit of a Cat.

Rose-coloured glasses I know but there were parts of the match where we were doing pretty ok I thought. Besides the soft missed tackles, dropped balls, typically soft and poorly timed penalties, lack of creativity and penetration, apparent lack of fitness and general lack of direction, I got the impression we were well and truly competing.

Not being entirely sarcastic, mind. Taking out some blues from us that the Raiders made sure to capitalise on (the tries at the end of the halves hurt), I guess there were some moments where the gap between the teams wasn't as large as being suggested... or at least we could have done a lot worse from the back foot.

That said - f**k.

Question concerning Karawana -

Guy has some talent; maybe not the capability to show it in first grade but there's something there. Anyway, what is he? His naming at halfback was a red herring like Houston at 5/8 (one would assume), but is he still going round in reggies as a pivot? Or are they fattening him up for the forwards? Seems a player in limbo.

Struck them too low and was lucky to get them over. Paterson should have been kicking but I guess Smith though differently. Bloody Smith and his poor choice of goal kickers!

And one thing I liked about us today - Raiders score with a few to go in the first half. We monster them from the kickoff, and the next play thirty of us rush up to hit them again. Now obviously it resulted in a high tackle and they scored again from the ensuing penalty $) BUT, it certainly looked like we cared. I'd imagine last year's team would have just dropped their collective head...

It's hard to justify effort when pointing at 38 against, but however bad it was I could certainly be less impressed with today.
