A bit of useless trivia, but was browsing the Soccer teams at the 2000 Olympics. Cameroon won Gold and Spain won silver. It seems like Puyol, Xavi, Abelda and former Barca striker Eto'o we're all present during the games in Sydney and represented their national sides. I know it's useless trivia but interesting. Love all those palyers and glad they enjoyed our beautiful city during the Olympic games.

He's already shown a great affinity towards Valencia by wanting to stick with them despite the financial drama's they were having last year.

I can't imagine either Barca or Real going after him as well. Barca already have Zlatan as their main man up front while Real are already having troubles trying to find consistent playing time for both Benzema and Higuain.

That's thanks to them signing both Ronaldo and Kaka.

I remember rumours about Spurs chasing him a few year back but they baulked at the $25mill price tag which was rumoured at the time

Citeh would probably be the only ones to afford him but they already have about 6 strikers

I hope that's not true from a Spurs perspective. For a striker of his pedigree, 25 million would be an absolute steal.

I dont recall Spurs spending any more than about 16-18 mill on any players

thats way over our spending limit

Spurs may not have spent above £16 million-18 million on one player, but they have splurged the amount on several players in a short time span.

IIRC in the summer transfer window of 2008 Tottenham spent £17 million on Bentley, £16.5 million on Modric and £14 million on Pavlyuchenko.

Now I know hindsight's 20/20 but even two years ago, if I had the option of either spending £25 million on David Villa or spending £31 million on Bentley and Pavlyuchenko, I know which I would go for.
