Now take your own stupid logic and compare Atletico to Grenada, Almeria, Elche or Osasuna and tell me Atletico are "little"

Here's where I was coming from. Compared to all other La Liga clubs, Atletico certainly aren't small. But we're talking in the context of the La Liga title race and the UCL here. This is a club that's record transfer fee paid is higher than Bayern and you call them little? They move to a 70,000 seat stadium soon and you call them little? Two years ago they had more season ticket holders than their stadium had capacity and you call them little? They're bigger than every team in Spain bar 2 and equal with 1 and you call them little?

Sums up our season unfortunately. Athletico bent us over even without Diego Costa and Turan, our defensively structure is diabolical and it further damns Martino for his decision not to reinforce the defence in either transfer window, further more we just don't play direct enough and physical enough

Things aren't black and white. Context is a concept you should learn about.

Atletico is the 3rd biggest club in Spain. Yet they're still little compared to the teams around them. Atletico in terms of budget are about a fifth of the size of the clubs they've competed with and out performed this year.

I stand by my claim that a CL-LL double by Atletico would be the greatest achievement in club football history. That's because they're little compared to the other contenders for those trophies.

They were one of the top 15 clubs in Europe even before this season based on wage expenditure, crowd figures, and historic success. They have never been "small".

It was a condescending and moronic remark from BM. One to go with the thousands of others he's made in 4 years.
