...because they lost a game? We were still all calling them that even when they had what was, by their standards, a 'slow start' to the season.

No, not one game, but the fact that they are 7 points short of winning their domestic league...

Just accept that you can't even argue that they're the best Spanish team of 2011/12 let alone best team of all time. If some of you saying it were 80 years old it would be a different story too, but seriously, how many years of football have most of us actually lived through??

that was because they game was delayed until like 10:30 due to real madrid vs barca game

They were supposed to kick off at 10pm anyway. Was only a 30 minute postponement.

Understandable that the LFP would delay it given the expected amount of stoppage time that was to result from all Madrid's timewasting.

This one's even better. Makes for quite a spectacular sight from behind the goal:

I reckon the club knew about it beforehand (and probably supported it) because the keeper seemed to be expecting it and the volunteers were prepared, coming straight on to collect the balls.

They make some good points but nothing we haven't heard before. The TV rights argument has been going for a while and I'm yet to encounter any La Liga fan who doesn't think it's inequitable.

See, again yet another PERFECT example of how effective a team's ultras can be when they are UNITED and have a co-ordinated approach! About 1000 balls were thrown there in the space of no more than 5 seconds! Brilliant!

Yeah I'm sure the club knew about it too and kudos for letting it happen. The ball boys were onto it way too quickly, and coming through the gates, there is no way security didn't notice people bringing them in....

I'm just glad the keeper wasn't hurt, because I imagine most would have gotten those dodgy crazy clarks balls that are more like rocks!

There's a few decent mid-week matches going on tonight and tomorrow.

Just looking at the table now and I realised Athletic Bilbao could well finish in the bottom half of the table! They have a tough last few matches coming up, plus Europa and Cup finals to play. It's sure to take a physical and psychological toll on the players....

As much as I dislike them, credit to Real Madrid. They were pushed all the way by a Barca side that will probably finish on 93 points and yet they held on and excelled.

Valencia have wrapped up a CL spot so attention now turns to 4th. It's going to be quite a big weekend with 4th place Malaga away to 6th Atletico and 5th Levante hosting 7th Mallorca. I have no idea how Mallorca managed to even be in contention for 4th given they've spent most of the season in the bottom half but they're now in with a shot. Out of those 4, Atletico and Levante have the best run home.

I am over the worst of my celebrations now so I'll say simply;
Champions!

Side-note; is Mourinho the only coach to win a league title in four different countries? Just curious.

Crazy stuff! Villarreal B are in Segunda so what happens now? Will both the A team and reserves play in the same league?

Zaragoza along with Wigan get my vote for best comebacks of the season. Both were down in March yet won a string of games to survive.

Malaga also got the 4th UCL spot.
