old & infirmed is different to being unable to communicate
starting with the basic premise of understanding what it is you are charged with , which langlands quite obviously wont so how can he plead to the charges ?
there is no chance of a conviction & even a monkey let alone the DPP would know this

making the charges laid an utter disgrace

What a load of horseshit. If langlands doesnt have the mental capacity then he needs to prove it. Prosecutors obligation to uphold public interest means they cant just rely on media accounts of his fitness.

Typical scum response by Dunny Widdler.
Essentially saying: "I don't know the bloke, but there's a good story to be made by dishing the one sided dirt on his relationship with his son", and implying that because they didn't have a relationship Langlands Senior is obviously a Bad Person (TM)."

If he's found guilty, Langlands should be stripped of honour
The Graeme Langlands case is a very sad one for the alleged victim and Langlands' family.

If he is found guilty of the historical sexual abuse of a girl on the Gold Coast, he should be stripped of his status as an Immortal of the game. His mates won't like that view, but I'm coming from a place of knowledge when it comes to his character.

I've known Langlands' son Trent most of my adult life.

A more decent person you would struggle to find. Graeme has never acknowledged his son, who is a successful personal trainer and, in his day, was a determined footballer and boxer.

Anyone who meets Trent is instantly drawn to him. He has trained high-profile footballers, such as Andrew Johns and Willie Mason, and now looks after jockey Hugh Bowman, who has ridden Winx to most of her victories.

Trent has been gutted by the news during the week. He rang me to say: "I don't know the bloke and never have. It was always just me and Mum. For this to happen ... I just feel for the alleged victims. What I know for a fact, my beautiful mum has given her life to me and I just want her to be OK."

So do you also believe those who were assaulted by Jimmy Saville should have just shut up?

did the UK DPP charge saville with anything ?
Langlands has been charged by the QLD DPP knowing he can't plead to the charges so they can't get a trial , so they can't get a conviction so wake up to youself
the 2 examples aren't even remotely the same

yeah right you dribbling halfwit
hes' been faking severe dementia , for no apparent reason
just for shits & gigs

You are aware you farqwad that this is not the first time someone in his condition has been dealt with by the qld courts?

Mental health court can make orders if he is permanently unfit to stand trial. Theres a process and he should be subject to it like any other member of the public.

I'm not asking about the DPP.

I'm asking you.

Do you think people who were sexually assaulted should never say anything if their attacker is dead or incapable to defend themselves because of health issues?

Might ?

with regard to evidence
other then a statement from the women , what other evidence would exist after 35 years ?
I don't know. AND NOR DO YOU.
You're leaping to assumptions.

Why not just work on the basis that these people know the law and it's interpretation better than you?

hahahahahah
no , are you serious ?
you are typical of the morons in our society who have no concept of the idea that just because someone is charged with something they are.. NOT .. guilty.. immediately even when it child sex charges !! A court decides that
not the complainent , not the police , not the DPP.
Changa has a basic human right to the presumption of innocence & a further right to answer the allegations
but his medical condition dictates .. he can't meaning he should never have been charged.

its alleged , a women has kept this bottled up for 35 years ... alleged
a court of law would have determined if the allegation was proven
that can't happen here so Im sorry , a pointless exercise.

Do you also think it's a pointless exercise to have those previously found guilty of a crime, exonerated/pardoned after they have died?

After all, it changes nothing but a persons reputation when they are dead. It's completely pointless, right?

Google the Gun Alley Murder for an example.
