Yes mate, you are dead right. I think there are lots of short memories here. Maloney, at least, played a huge part in the finals last year. Sharky was big in most games....I think both have earned their keep, and it's a sad way to go out now. I would not give me the warm and fuzzies if I was considering a move to the Warriors.

Maloney certainly deserves better and has been one of the few who kept turning up week in and week out this year.

Brown on the other hand should have got demoted six weeks ago for his sorry efforts, no sympathy there.

It could be a ploy by Iro to get Maloney and Brown fired up, and we'll see them in the starting XIII come game day.

Maloney definitely deserves a starting send off, brown is fine off the bench where he belongs IMO..

Would have loved to see fish get a run also but prob have to wait for next years trials.

Now that I think about it, doesn't this team have zero kicking game, especially length wise? Mateo wouldn't strike me as having any and I don't know about Godinet - I presume he's okay but no great shakes. Strikes me that Dugan may have a field day.

So...a spine of...

1. Tuimavave
6. Mateo
7. Godinet
9. Mara

Who had that one pencilled in at the start of this year? Come Sunday at least the misery will be over and done with.

I think this combination has quite a lot of potential on attack. In terms of a good kicking game and defence hmm... but at least Godinet will give it a try unlike Johnson.

I don't think the focus this week should be on the NYC team. For pride's sake, for the sake of the fans, they need to get back in the winners circle in first grade.

As for the the first part, fully agree. I find the changes astonishing. Brave, but geez imagine if Johnson decides he'll get his agent to start talking to the union mongs. He's the best half prospect we've had since at least Stacey Jones. I think the likes of Hurrell, Locke and Johnson represent our best chance at developing gamebreakers, whereas say Bill Tupou at the moment... he doesn't, and he seriously is in dire need of a trip to reserve grade. To me if Iro wanted to see things for next year, Fisiiahi onto the wing would have been highly logical.

I agree I'd like to see Fish on the wing. As for Johnson...if one little dropping is all it takes to spit the dummy, and he goes off to talk to union IMO he wasn't that committed anyway and odds are he would leave regardless. A fantastic talent but IMO tail should not wag the dog, and no player is bigger than the game. There's no question his form is poor atm.
Although I think some of the drops have been fair, there is a double standard while Tupou remains.

The problem I have with this is its not so much Shaun spitting the dummy. Mid season... you drop a highly talented guy for a week or two, the week after they get to come back... here, Shaun gets to stew on it for 5 months, a lot of people can get in his ear in that time. I don't think it serves any purpose whatsoever TBH.

The last thing you want to do is ostracise your latest credible hope (IMO) to build a dynasty at the club.

It's fair point its too little too late. Quite a few should've been out weeks ago.
