Maloney will be named on the bench for two main reasons, 1) it's his final game after three years of good service, and 2) if Henry goes off then Jimmy simply has to be a back up kicker.

Otherwise, yes, we could end our season in high farce with the likes of a Packer* having a shot.

* not Packer but you know what I mean (Mateo? Brown?), or is Carlos not bad?

It will be Ben Henry, but that last kick of his doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Interestingly we didn't even bother finding a worthy replacement for Maloney for next year with the boot.

Heard on Radio Sport this morning that Maloney had a war of words with Iro apparently, which could have triggers him being dropped.

Also heard yesterday that Iro put them through their most intense training session they've had all year. That's definitely a welcome change from Bluey's apparently half-arsed off season and weekly training sessions.

Iro actually seems all over it compared to McLennan, he can string a sentence together too.
I wouldn't mind if he gets a shot next year should Supercoach fail to eventuate. Geoff Toovey's done alright in the same situation and the Cronulla coach too I think

It's a knee-jerk reaction from Iro to try and show he can make hard decisions. Badly timed and won't work. Should show the club he isn't capable of running the team.

it is interesting to note Iro on an interview on R.Sport, Wednesdays drive show I think...talking about the dropping of johnson, talking about form, he'd be the first to admit it etc etc...but later on in the very same interview actually said Johnson might actually not have been able to play anyway due to the eye injury! So is it dropping, or out injured? Is there a possibility he may be declared fit and play, so the 'dropping' is just someone out to prove he can make 'tough calls' if needed?:?

Hold on he might be onto something there, Iro at least deserves a fair chance to prove himself. I say give him a go unless we really sign someone brilliant.

I initially thought that current coaches could step in, but IMO the time has come for a clean out... ditch the kiwi connection buddy system, and get in some good Aussie club heiracy because it just isn't progressing, and hasn't for years. You can't guarantee results of course, but we have the resources where we should be a consistant and feared side, not a flip of the coin of what you'll get.

NZ Coach's have split personalities!

So, do you think there is any chance of Maloney playing?

If he doesn't, who's your goalkicker? (yes, it is all fantasy team related) :)

As Confucius may have said, team that score no try has no point.

I almost drove off the road the other day when I heard a news bulletin saying that Lewis Brown was putting his support behind Tony Iro as 2013 coach. Why do we give a f*ck what he thinks?

On the Boil Up on MTV last night, Tony Kemp, Luck, Jimmy and Sharkie all said Iro was best man for the job...

In order: Idiot, I can go for it if a legend like him says it (but still leaving), leaving, and leaving/can go mate with himself

If we're looking for subjective OZ, is a mate of his, a departing player with another match to play under him (and having just been given the captaincy for his last game) and two others who are hanging in the balance to be dropped off the bench going to give a real opinion? I suspect not. I didn't hear this Iro cheer squad last season when Cleary was going.

Yep, again it's the buddy buddy matey matey thing...and irrelevant what they think.
Is this 'review' still going on, or was the sack Bluey enough for all at the club?

Just saw a replay again of the Stanley try where he pushes around Johnson, who jogs casually back without a care in the world, jogs over to Stanley who runs back at him, Stanley pushes through him with ease and Johnson jogs back casually back without a care in the world as Stanley runs away to score from 30 metres out. That was baaaaaaad.
