All major appointments are decisions made at and approved by the WT Board.

The CEO has a role to play but there are much bigger fish to fry. The board is, apart from one member from either side, made up of hangers on and people involved in destroying the two Foundation Clubs they represent.

If the media is correct, it was Humphreys that argued the current contract for Sheens with the Board. The Board wanted Sheens to transition to coaching director role after a season to lead in to a new coach being appointed. According to media sources, it was Humphreys that argued against the boards preferred future for Sheens contract and turned them around to accepting the contract as is- as I understand it- without KPI's and without a get out clause (maybe that is where the handshake deal of 'I'll walk away if...' come into play). If that is correct, Humphreys will have to fall on his sword if the club continues to be damaged with the fallout over removing Sheens.

Why dont we do what the govt does with has beens who are to expensive to pay out. Keep him on as head coach, but only figuratively. Walters as asst does it all and Tim sits in the corner running the racing odds on his own. Then you humiliate him as much as possible until he either quits or stays a bitter old prick for the rest of his life.

I think that is exactly what the club is trying to do,hence Fonzy wants out now plus his money and the only way he can acheive that is to fight it out in the courts on technicalities.

But as i stated above somewhere , if he wasnt given the arse and still coaching we were still up for 500k a year so what dif is it paying the old fart and making him dissapear or paying him while he sits in a closet .. in either situation he offers the club FA ? i suppose the hope he hates the closest and leaves thus costing us didly squat .

Can't the club get money from Uncle Harry?

He's building apartments all over the shop. His bathroom would be worth a million.

Absolutely! It was the WT board who extended Sheens' contract for 3 years. A knee jerk reaction when interest was shown in him from Penrith.

No matter which way you look at it, Sheens is entitled to his pay out. The WT board should fall on their swords for making such an error in judgement. Most supporters knew the decision to re sign Sheens for 3 years was crazy! How the board did not came to this similar realisation is mind boggling!

The difference is a lump sum pay out compared to monthly installments I take it.

Wests Tigers are edging towards the appointment of their coach - but it is the fact they are edging at all that is concerning some.

Ben Elias, a club great and former board member, admitted he was becoming frustrated by the delays in appointing a replacement for Tim Sheens.

The club is believed to have narrowed its search down to two candidates - Melbourne assistant Kevin Walters and former Bradford and St Helens coach Mick Potter - but with no official announcement coming, some are getting restless.

Elias believes the delays in appointing a new coach have left the Tigers about six weeks behind other clubs. ''I think for our supporters, our sponsors and also importantly our players, we have to get someone in sooner rather than later,'' Elias said. ''We need leadership, and that comes from the coach. We're about six weeks behind everyone else … The coach has to implement procedures, bring in his culture as well as his support staff. That doesn't happen overnight.''

It has been speculated the Tigers will make a decision this week. Radio host Alan Jones, a supporter of one of the candidates, Matt Parish, also criticised the process yesterday.

Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys has interviewed candidates, while a subcommittee will discuss the appointment before it is put to the full board.

''We understand the interest in the subject and obviously have no desire to drag out an outcome,'' he said. ''That would be counter-productive for all concerned, especially the candidates who have invested a lot of their time in the process. That said, the board will take as long as is necessary to get this critical decision right in the best interests of the club.'' /QUOTE

They should make Sheens the coach of the Western Suburbs Magpies VB Cup team.
He made it what it is today by getting the best players to play for Ryde Eastwood. He should have a taste of what he created.

It could be great for his career. A real opportunity to prove he is a great coach by getting them to the grand final next year.

He would relish the chance. Then again he might just walk.

There you go then.

Can't Harry give give Shines a job on site?

Scratch that, ruining a football club is one thing, having dwellings collapse would be quite another.

He'd be using floor tiles as roofing tiles, windows as doors etc.

Stating the obvious, and it could also be considered hear say, but a source with connections to Sheens informed me that -

1-he wants every cent owing to him

2-feels bitter and betrayed by the club and players, especially one who he brought to the club at a young age and treated like a son.

3-what ever he told the players privately,Humpty would know within 24hrs from the players

4-Marshall would sulk and not talk to him for days if he said anything negative to him about his game

5-Farah has signed with Parra for 2014.

I cant help feeling that Sheens can only blame himself for the state of his situation at the club, and his relationship with the players, throw in his coaching issues, which there are many and its no wonder that he is out of a job.

However, the board really needs to pay this guy out to rid the club of any negative animosity that may exists with him hanging about, this would benefit every body at the WT in 2013

Sounds pretty truthful to me. I think we should all take this as gospel.

However, the board really needs to pay this guy out to rid the club of any negative animosity that may exists with him hanging about, this would benefit every body at the WT in 2013

No - he should get f**k all. He got sacked. A fair payout is okay - say 12 weeks severance pay.

I don't like the idea of Sheens getting a full pay out either, since it appears for now that he is unwilling to work out a deal, than WT only other option may be to take a legal avenue, this may in turn force Sheens to accept a resolution, depending also on what legal advice he has been given.
What ever the case it looks like it is going to get ugly,i also would not be surprised if the statement of "walking away if we did not make the semi's"surfaced if this resolution is going to be decided by lawyers.

Sheens doesnt have to be willing to do anything.
WTs I would guess wouldnt have a leg to stand on, legally
He's owed 2 years pay....with the new grants clubs have recieved I think we can cover it.....its still a LOT of money pissed up against the wall when most other clubs will be using theirs wisely
