I would question that he has an option next year for $600k, although I believe he is earning that much this year.

Let's hope not anyway, as they will need every spare $ to resign the halves...

If true than Chris really has to decide whether if he wants to stay or opt for the cash and leave, while he has been a good servant to the club and has found a new lease of life in the backrow others are more a priority and higher in the pecking order at the Wt to sign.

I hope he stays on the reduced contract. Great guy and he is playing really good footy.

Geez this is a tough one. I really hope he stays but $600k is a lot. $300k per season for 3 years is pretty low, especially given his current form. Hopefully they can negotiate something that works in favour of everyone.

He has been on fire in his first two games and is by far our best back row option. The trouble is how much can you afford to a backrower when looking at your whole team. I get the feeling Brooks and Moses contract negotiations are putting a lot of pressure on what we can afford to offer other players

$300K per year for three years is a win for the club IMO. Found a new lease on life in the second row and would be handy to have in case Sironen doesn't pan out. Would be good to have a cheap, reliable forward and chase a SOO class second rower to pair with him.

Rowdy is the one guy that would accept such a deal which in short term is unfavourable to him but very favourable to his beloved club.If he does accept it he'd be in the minority of players who r selfless in this day & age.

In contrast to rowdy particularly re integrity/attitude is the overrated money hungry impostor wearing no.6 @ st George who thinks he is worth more than 300k.The truth is he isn't worth $300.

Interesting thoughts on BM, but he is reportedly saying a lot different than what you are suggesting about himself & this club.

I'd have given Rowdy more. 400k a year is significant to him and given he's our best backrower, isn't ridiculous.

Moses and Brooks should listen to Teddy, Farah and Rowdy about how its best they take a smaller offer now, build a good team around themselves and chase a bigger deal when Farah retires (they could 300k ungrades each)

In principle that is a good idea to give the team a good spine but in a game as risky as ours players can only be 1 injury away from the end of a career eg Dwyer so I don't think anyone would begrudge them taking big money elsewhere. They should be paid what they're worth.

Would be great to see a full spine of local juniors carving up in the next 5 to 10 years for the Tigers, as someone who lives in the area, it's much needed (a successful tigers team)

If it doesn't happen id say some of the blame would have to fall on the front office for not managing the cap well enough

perhaps, but it's a bit crazy throwing over a million dollars a year at two guys who haven't even played 90 games combined between them.
