League stars in campus ruckus

I'm going to repeat what I said earlier, If the allegations prove true, then the players have had enough warnings, they should be sacked by the club, no matter who it is. There's a major sponsor ready to sign away $700,000 a season to us, these blokes (if guilty) could well cost us that. I'm sure everyone in Newcastle would feel the same. I've spoken to a lot of diehard fans today and they are saying the same thing.

Absolutely right.... im not forking out 200 bucks for a season ticket to support a group of boys (yes their boys, grown men dont usually behave like that) who cant act in a sensible fashion... sackings/suspensions whatever, if it proves true I want action... hopefully if its proven true at least it will send a message to other clubs that MAYBE we might want to find a way to stop this behaviour

3pm News Update (New FM, Newcastle): Ken Conway has announced they have investigated the events that occurred in Bathurst and have found that 12 players broke curfew and continued drinking etc. An emergency Board Meeting has been called for 4pm to decide on what action will be taken against all the players who have broken team rules. There will be a press conference held at 5.00pm by the Knights.

As Troy has said just be carefull what you post. Naming names, and presuming so and so did this etc etc is not on and will be removed if not accompanied with bons fida links on the info.

Conway has just been on 2HD, he said all players that broke the curfew will be named at 5.00pm today. He also said they are in trouble, they knew the club rules, and they broke them. Just reported also that police will be laying no charges.

Without wanting to be alarmist, this scandal is escalating. I was about to make the comment that nothing has been made official yet, that the Daily Telecrap wasn't exactly the house of truth when it comes to anything scandalous.

Yet, clearly the Knights have gone into damage control -- if Ken Conway is talking about 12 players having broken curfew then this story won't be gone by tomorrow.

Then again, it would be naive to think it will get as big as the Bulldogs sex scandal of last year -- one could suggest that that story involved a lot more than that being suggested occurred here. I say that without downplaying the seriousness of the allegations being made about the Knights at the moment.

Strap yourselves in folks, and read tomorrow's Herald I dare say.

The Campus were talking to police.

Maybe the Age will tell the story.

What happened to the players clothes, if he was chased by security & the player was just in his underwear.

i am really disappointed about this....i was sitting at work this monring and listening to kyle and jackie o and they mentioned about a league scandel and i was saying to myself pls dont be the newcastle kngihts-- and as i was saying it they were saying the knights....shocked!!! i dont care who the players are- they should not be there....harsh but its bad enough when this happens to some one by someone who is not in the publc eye-- this is just shameful. i hope that they do name names. the only bad thing as some onehas already mentioned is that - a) sponsorship and b) those players who were not involved. i dont want our team to be the team that is going to be remembered as involved in a scandle like the doggies were last year- but it seems that is going to happen......

It will be interesting to see what the club does if two of the names that have been released. Particularly in relation to one of the names who is seen as a key to our future.
