No need, they are employees of the club and hence can be present if relevant, which the board deem them to be, however only if they have been members for 3 years could the vote on any motion, but I would suggest their best cause of action would be to abstain from any vote, to remove the specter of conflict of interest.

How do they know how long we have been a member for? Do they check out our membership history before we vote? Havent been to one of these before.

just a reminder too, if you have any interest in the Vikings Sports Club, you should turn up to vote for it's continued assistance.

The official web site (as I pasted) says otherwise - is this not enforced?

The last few words in that notice are important, to attend and to vote.

Nowhere does it say that you can't attend if you have less than 3 years membership, you just can't vote at the meeting.

Any financial member can attend the AGM by NSW law.

There will be a desk outside the door or just inside to get your voting slip for a meeting like this a slip of colored paper will be used which will also have a signature on it from the person that gave it to you (like a ballot on election day). You only get that once they check your name off on the list of members.

Tonight's not an election though. What voting slip would that be Mark?

It is a slip of colored paper you can put in the air to vote on any of the matters presented at the AGM, including the regular motions, the election of life members, and the discussion about Vikings, as well as any motions that are moved from the floor, for example a motion of no confidence, calling for an election and an Extraordinary General Meeting.

Sounds like it's going to happen. You keep mentioning it, and it was interesting to hear Steve Sharp on the ABC the other day say that more than a couple of the current board need to be replaced.

does a vote of no confidence make all board members up for election?
They will still need to fullfill the football club board member numbers.

I only keep mentioning it because it has been mooted, still needs to be raised, and seconded before it even gets to voting. There was one raised at the last FC AGM that didn't get past being moved, there was no second so the motion failed.

I can only assume given the NRL sides results over the last few months that a second might be found.

I am studying constitutions today to see.

Unfortunately I do not have the Leagues Club Constitution. Having said that the entire board would be up for re-election as I understand it.

My guess is a Vote of No Confidence in the board would be a special resolution and need to be carried by 75% of the voting members present.

A Request for a SGM can be made if 5% of the memberships write in asking for one, At 40,000 members they would need 2000 signatures.
